question about pre-searing and factions
I haven't seen this and was wondering about it.
It seems when you create a new character, you can have him 'born' in either Tyria or Cantha. If it's i Tyria I assume it's pre-searing. But if you start in Cantha, and you go back to Tyria, does it start in pre or post searing? I'd hope pre......it's such a lovely scenery and everyone is happy |

I'm guessing you will be transported to post-sear. Guild wars is always transitioning (timewise) as seen in the latest patch. If you take the ship to Tyria from Canthra, you will probably end up in Lions Arch (which is a much higher level than presear)
--edit-- there will probably be something to keep new characters in canthra from accessing tyria untill they are a higher level (quest or level maybe). |

thanks for the reply, and that makes sense. I do recall reading that the embarcation point from Tyria would be Lion's Arch, so I suppose that would mean when you go TO Tyria for the first time, it would be post-sear....and you'd be fighting your way backwards to get to Old Ascalon.
I also recall reading that to get new characters in Cantha up to speed there would be 'training grounds'. I was wondering if those were a series of skill and item-giving quests like in pre-searing, or some artificial way to get ppl exp? My motivation is this: I like to "100%" games, so I'd like my new characters to see all the game's content, without having to choose either Tyria OR Cantha's early content while forgoing the other. wonder how this works out.......maybe we'll just have to see, if noone knows. |

Each game has its "presearing" and then you can leave from LA or Canta's equivalent and go back and forth from there. No your character cannot time travel back to presear. Characters cant really time travel at all.

My Ritualist's name will be Dr. Who.
I demand a Time Travel skill anyways......from the sounds of it the Gwen thing won't be wrapped up if you can't go back to pre-searing unless you create a second guy to pre-sear and transfer things....which doesn't really seem to fit a proper time-line |
