Need some help - Solo questions.
Hello everyone,
I was about to go buy Guild wars today and I have a few questions about soloing. I was wondering, can you solo in Guild wars? And if so, what type of character would be suited for this kind of thing? Am not sure if all characters are solo friendly or not. If all types of characters are able to solo, my next question would be: Whats the best character for a beginner. I like to solo alot in many MMORPG's and I also like grouping, but sometimes you can't always find a group when you want to play. Any help/advice would be wonderful. |

The main use for a solo character in GW is for farming - you get more of the stuff that the monsters drop since, when you are alone, you don't need to share.
For farming, the usual choices seem to be a warrior/monk or a monk/warrior. But almost any character - with the right build - can solo some areas. It's also true that no character can solo every area of the game. Since you want to solo missions early in the game - not farm - I'd guess that a warrior/monk would do best. You'd sure want a character that could provide some self-healing and yet do some amount of damage, so a warrior/monk would fit that bill. Many of the missions in the game just can not be completed with a solo character, by the way. The game mechanics provide henchmen - characters that use crude AI that can be used when you can't find humans to group with. |

I had no idea you can build a multi-class character. Can you pick up and swap different builds or are you locked into a build once you go (Warrior/Monk)? The henchmen thing sounds really sweet, how does that work exactly? If you get a team mission/quest and you don't have a party they just spawn with you? Or is like something you got tot buy to use when you???re alone? I really like that, so you???re never really alone even when you are. |

Ripper, the Henchmen don't cost you anything, just add them to your party. Later on in the game, you can swap between secondary professions, but like Pain up there said, don't worry about soloing until you finish the game. It's worth it.

ahh okay
I was worried about lvling without a group, but since we get henchmen I don't see any problems with lvling. Whats the highest level can we go up to? I think i read somewhere it's around (level 10)? am really not sure. |
