I found this earlier today... it has the skin of an exctended air wand and I have never seen it be4 i was wondering if it was just me or is this a new item

it was added in an update sometime this month, it is quite new.

One of my guild members found one in Perdition Rock. Don't know any other places where they may drop though.

yes, its new. I just got the extended fire wand last night thats now a staff.

great work caelus, has anyone found out if the collector staffs have been changed to this too?

I looked at the Collector Fire Staff next to Ice Caves of Sorrow and I dont think so. I think they're intent is to make the collectors staves different and actually a "collector" looking item.
