Question on Weapons Upgrade and Runes for Warrior
I went to the Tomb of kings for Farming and Found a Gold unidentified Sword which i used the superior kit to indentify. The specs of the sword is written below.
Poisonous Flamberge of Defense Slashing Dmg 15-22(req 8 Swordsmanship) Dmg +13% (While Enchanted) Lenghtens Poison duration on foes 33% Armor +5 Value 220 gold I have 3 upgrade components which are :- 1. Sword Pommel of Fortitude which is only +21 HP 2. Sword Pommel of Shelter which is only +4 Armor 3. Icy Sword Hit Cold Damage Is it safe to use all 3 components to this sword. Will there be any form of change that will make the sword ineffective. Your thoughts on this please. The next question is about Runes. I know that Vigor Runes are non stackable. However my question is that if i were to apply minor runes on my warriors helmet to increase his HP and the apply a Major one on the body, will the HP go up or stay on just the Major one. I would also like to know apart from runes and weapons and shields that has HP included is there other ways of getting a higher HP. I did see one warrior with 1200 HP. I was wondering how he got such high HPs. I am kind of new to this game and I still learning and hope someone could advice me on this about weapons upgrade and runes. (I have already read the sticky on runes from one of the site i went too but they didn;t say about applying Vigor runes on various parts of the armor will help increase the HP. Your thoughts on this, please. Thank You and Good hunting to all. |

Swords can only take two upgrades, one pommel and one hilt. The sword you've found already has two upgrades (poisonous hilt & +5 armor pommel), so any upgrade you put on there will replace one of the old.

That sword is decent, but it's nothing to write home to mom about. The most valuable part of it is the +5 Defense, which is a perfect mod. When you add a hilt or pommel, you overwrite what was already there. So if you apply your Icy Hilt, it will no longer be a Poisoners sword. Same goes for the Pommel's of Fortitude and Shelter(and Armor +5 from the Defense pommel is > +21 hp and +4 vs physical).
Warriors with a ton of hitpoints probably do have the superior vigor rune, but they're using skills to get up into the 600hp + range. Skills such as Endure Pain and Defy Pain(an elite) can easily add 500hp, and Monk enchantments can tack on another couple hundred(I don't know the exact numbers). Throw in some Symbiosis from the Ranger line and it can be easy to see a Warrior with well over 1500hp. A major rune will cancel out a minor rune, as will a superior cancel out a major and minor. |

Weapons are made up of 3 components:
A prefix (Icy, Cruel, Sundering, Vampiric, etc) The inherent mod (if present) A suffix (Of Fortitude, of Defense, Of Shelter, etc) On most weapons (except greens) you can change the prefix and suffix at your will. But each weapon can have only one. If you apply your icy sword hilt to your flamberge, it will no longer be poisionous, it will become an icy flamberge or Defense. With runes, the same applies. You can put another rune on a single piece of armor but it will replace the other. If you have a superior vigor on one and a major on another you will net a HP deficit of 9 HP. Most people will apply a rune of their favorite attirbute to their helm so that they can easily swap. Keep vigors on the body and fill in the rest with minor runes. While you can equip multiples of the same attribute rune, they will not stack. For example on my warrior: 1 +1 Tactics helm with superior tactics, 1 +1 Strength Helm with Superior Strength Superioir Absorption on the chest piece Superior Vigor on my Gloves or Legs. 1 set of ascalon boots (for the dmg reduction), 1 set of ascalon boots with superior sword, 1 set of ascalong boots with superior axe, 1 set of ascalon boots with superior hammer. This affords me the option of keeping the absorption and vigor on at all times, and just switching between strength and tactics. I also can throw on normal boots or one of the superior sets to boost my dmg attributes. Spells and other skills can boost your HP to levels that high but they are not permanent. Hope that is clear. |

Thank you so much for taking the time to read and explain to me about this.
I am really grateful to you. Can this sword be salvaged cos when I indentified it, it was showing a gold pommel which I have failed to read cos I was in a hurry. (My Bad). |

If it is better than your current weapon, by all means use it. If not, try selling it to players for a nice little profit. It may not be a great sword, but it is definitely a good one and can fetch a decent price on the market, especially if you get lucky. |
