Do You Do All Quest Second Time Through?
Just curious - I'm using my second PvE char, and the first time around I did everything. But the second time around I'm thinking of just doing the quests where you gain skills. Now I'm not rushing through I'm Level 11 and just reached Yak's bend, but I dunno I have like 10 "Experience" quests for Ascalon that I haven't done yet... Just curious on how people that have been through the game multiple times feel...

I just ascended with my second character, (warrior/necromancer) there are a couple of quests still in my log, but it is the same for my first character, I didnt get any runs anywhere, and i have completed all the primary quests up to the Dragon's Lair, (where i am now.) So no I have not done all quests, but I have done most of them.

IMO the first character I played I went through normal with no runs. The next 3 I had ran to the desert.Did the missions with guildies. Then went to Beacons run to droks and then went back and did the small quests so I can fly right through them.

I did them all with 4 char's. Really doesn't take too long, and you get items, gold, etc. along the way. If you're just concerned about experience, there's plenty to be gained without these quests. If you just enjoy playing the game and want to save up along the way, the quests are a good option.

For the characters after my 1st, i got myself a lift to the desert for ascending and collecting my attribute points. After that i do all quests for my primary and secondary skills. And some missions or quests are so much fun, or beautifull that i really dont mind doing them over and over again

First 2 characters, did them all. Next 6 characters, took shortcuts and went back later to do missions and bonuses.

That's cool - I was thinking of going through for a while, and than go back to do them later. I do have a thing about getting both Bonus and Mission done on missions though Have to do that....just like those double swords

The problem is that I believe that there are some skill quests that don't get activated unless you do some of the experience quests first. Especially in old ascalon.
I have gone through and quested on every one of my new characters. It helps to learn the skills and play styles and strengths and weaknesses of each class imo and I enjoy doing it. I just work my way naturally to beacons, get run to droks, buy only armor, go back and do all the quests through to amnoon. Get run on a desert tour then go back and do each mission and quest as normal. |

The only quests i "aim" to do with any of my characters are fun quests like
galrath & the lost hog kinda quests but most of all quests with skills as rewards! Im not really a fan of exp gained, lvl 20 is always only around the corner but you cant really get anywhere without your skill bar, so skill quests are primery for me! On all my characters i have a hole load of quests left to do but now that i have almost all the skills for each profession and all characters are either complete ascended or atleast level 20 then i really have plenty of time to do them... |

I did some quests but mostly missions. Typically the quick/easy quests and those that rewarded skills were done and the rest I went back for or completed when helping out a "younger" toon of a guildie.

Depends how I feel basically. I generally skip Aurora Glade and (sometimes) Riverside Province missions by going to ToA from either Druids or The Wilds and then down to Sanctum. I guess I just like chilling in The Talmark Wilderness and chatting to Rotscale in Majesties Rest (the first time I saw those Blair Witch things hanging from a branch - heh).
I hardly bother with bonuses when I get to Kryta - too much effort for a measly 1k experience. |

On my multiple run through with charcters I will do Skill quests and any easy to do quests along the way to ascension. I usuallay get ran to ascension and try to ascend around level 15 that way I can ascend directly to 20. I go back and do any missions i skiped for the skill points though for some reason I always end up skipping auora glade.

Strange thing is the first time I played the game I missed out a few missions by just doing normal quests. Had to go back and find places like Bloodstone Fen to get to do the missions for the first time. I'm struggling to find anyone who likes the Aurora Glade mission at the moment, hope it's not indicative of the type of stuff we are getting in Factions.
Not fantastic design when you do a quest and arrive in the same place you would be in if you did the appropriate mission.. |

I do them all unless I'm recreating a character/profession that I deleted in the past for some reason. I feel that in order to properly learn a chosen profession, you need some experience in it. If you just skip all of the quests because they are boring and you have done them before you are missing out on not only free skills, but also the learning process with those skills.
After you do the quests enough, you can almost breeze through them as fast as you would complete everything getting a run everywhere. Missions of course, excluded. Oh Aurora Glade is very easy if you acquire some sort of speed skill on your profession. Just henchy through it (as most people won't listen to reason) and at the crystals run them far right, far left, close right. Sometimes you have to rerun the far right a time or two, but eventually you will get all 3 before they capture one of yours. And...there is no fighting that way. Better yet, grab a friend or someone else who needs to complete it and as soon as the first person places the first crystal, have them waiting at the pedastal for the next one to spawn and immediately start running it to the left, while you go wait for the final one. Either way it's doable. I actually did this one on a character with no run skills, just me and the henchies. It took quite a few trips back and forth to crystals as the mantles would capture one right as I was about to have all three, but eventually I got them.
