Farming is basically going out by yourself, or with a group and killing the same monsters over and over to collect the gold + items they drop. Some of the popular monsters to kill solo are griffons, trolls, minotaurs, and ettins. While group farming areas include places like Sorrow's Furnace and Fissure of Woe. However these are not accessable until later in the game.

No worries
Oh, I also see that you are a W/Mo. Thats a good combo for farming. Have a look around the builds forums, there are lots of guides to farming with a W/Mo. |

For the time being, seeing as how you are new to the game and still in the "lower" levels of your play experience, I would strongly reccomend you not worry about gold right now. Just play the game as if gold didn't exist, except for buying armor when you can (but you can also trade for it at Collectors with items found as drops, so even if you are broke, no worries). If you just go through the game without worrying about your stash, you'll find that soon enough you will be packed full of stuff to sell/salvage in order to get a nice bundle of starting funds for your farming carreer.
That's what I did, and it works out great. Sure, I'm not rich... But I do have enough cash to fall back on if I need to get something bad enough. Be happy with what you have, and you will find that the lack of gold becomes less stressful... Good luck with Guild Wars |

Don't worry about asking that...I would explain it but everyone else has explained it very well.
If it makes you feel any better when i heard someone say 'farming' before, I assumed they were talking about an area similar to the farm outside of ashford in pre-searing, and i thought you went there and killed stuff there for gold, I didn't really think farming ment you could go anywhere and do it |

The W/mo is a great farmer and so is the mo/nec
best place to solo mid lvl farming is Gates of Kryta Scoundrels Rise easy for W/mo to farm there use firey sword as they go down easy with fire. There are much better places but for a low to mid lvl w/mo its easy pickings and you can solo. Its also a great place to grind (lvl up) i solo'd there from 7-15 in a day, as soon as i got the gold for the Forge armor i got it and then went back to continue. As far a mo/nec look into 55monk but thats later. |

One of the two black dye drops I got was right outside Ascalon City. You can get lots of decent stuff by just playing and killing stuff along the way, and you'll get a whole lot of great stuff. Salvage like mad; that stuff will come in handy for crafting later. Just enjoy the game, and you'll find great stuff, that you can sell, use, or salvage.
But this comes from a girl with *no* patience for farming at this point in time in the game. Maybe the next time through. -Eli |
