How do Pre-Orderers get in 24 hours early?
Well, like many i preordered GW:F and got the preorder kit. Of course, I know people with the preorder we get preorder items/get in 24 hours early. I know how to get my preorder, which i have already checked out(which are pretty nice), but my question is how are the people witht he preorder stuff going to get in early? Are we getting the game early...? or what?

No, the key lets you access Cantha 24 hours early.
You know that the game is mostly downloaded on your PC now. Its just waiting for April 27th/28th to be unlocked. Once the game hits the stores you wont be able to play it untill you actaully buy a retail copy and add the key to your account. And before you ask, if you played 24 hours before, you wont lose your character and do not have to start over. The retail key lets you play on the 28th and on. |

They might allow you to play a couple of days but you will need the retail key after that. |

Once you pick up the retail copy then they will deduct $10 from the price. If you have paid full price for the pre order then your retail is free. You just have to go pick it up. (I hope that you saved your recipet) The pre order key is ONLY for the items and the 24 hours access. To play the game YOU NEED THE Retail key. You should pay twice. Take my case for example: I have the pre order (paid $5). Applied the key, which got me the weapons plus the 24 hour early access. On April 28th, I have to go to the store to get the full copy of the game. If its $59 then I will pay $54. Quote:
You just have to login to the game 24 hours before April 28th and create a character and off you go. To continue playing you need to get the retail key. Last edited by boxterduke; Mar 23, 2006 at 04:24 PM // 16:24.. |

jeff said we don't get our 2 extra char slots untill adding the retail key so if you have 4 chars alrdeay then you can not log in and create a rit or ass.i just hope, because of this, that i can at least take my old chars in 24 hours early.but i got the pre-order so i could create a new char 24 hours early to get a jump on play styles of the new chars and to get a jump on the name of my new chars.

But it kinda defies the purpose of having access 24 hours before and not having to be able to create new characters. I assume that everyone would want to try the new characters. Quote:
Try to contact the site you got it from and find out how are they going to do about getting you the retail key. If you have not paid anything yet then you are set, just buy the full game when its out. I think that when you ordered the pre order, they just sent it to you since its free. My box had a price tag of $0.00 on it. I just paid 5 dollors to reserve a copy when EB gets it since they were getting limited quantities the first couple of days. it is my understanding that pre-order packs get 24 hour early access and then have up to 24 hours after the day factions opens to the general public to purchase and/or activate their key to continue with uninterrupted access.

If you have paid full price for the pre-order then they will obviously ship you the product when it is released, not before, or you will have to pick it up, depending on what you chose on the site. That's how Best Buy works anyways...So you would have to wait until it is released in stores to get the retail key. If you paid the $5 or so for the pre-order key ONLY then it's just as the others said, you will have to buy the full version when it's released.
