i got a great surprise for you!
PETS LEVEL UP EVEN IF THEY ARE DEATH!!!! so dont worry, go to the hardest place you know in the game, and as long as his CORPSE is in your area he gets exp from each kill i got a snow wolf lvl 5, after 9 or 10 runs in ToPK my pet was lvl 20! and the MM loved him (lol like a minion factory, hehe) dont worry be happy |

While pets do level up while dead, it's not always the best idea to level them in that way. Your pet's final stats will be influenced by how you play with them while they're gaining experience and leveling. How you plan on using your pet, therefore, is important in how you should train it up. I personally never like getting the final form that results from just letting your pet die all the time, but then I'm usually playing on a ranger primary and want to be able to focus heavily on my pet. For a different primary class, the pet might need to be used differently.
For all the ins and outs of what the different pet evolutions are, and how to get them, check out this section of the Pet Guide. |

...my wolf end up hearty! which is good cuz i pretty much need it to draw aggro while i shoot barrage at whatever he grouped around him. i never wanted a high dmg pet with low hp, cuz YOU are there to do major dmg, and if the pet dies fast all aggro goes on you, and then you either run like hell or are death!
i had a dmg dealer cat, he was dealing ok dmg (still not as much as me with my 15^50 bow+ barrage) but he was dying pretty fast so i had to either die or run away. with my wolf tanking for me i get to do more dmg without runing away and actually KILING the monsters. and for UW, with the crasy degen from burning and aggro no pet can survive long... so its always a minion factory there.... |

the troll cave outside droks is a great place for levelling ... 168 xp for a level 20 character solo per troll ... so LOTS more for a level 5 pet lol

Yeah, so I suppose it'd be ok for a now level 14 pet.
What I was thinking about doing is getting it up 1 more level and fully evolved, so that way I won't have to worry about messing up full evolution, then possibly do the troll training, disregarding its death if it happens, and levelling it that way. That sound like a good idea? |

i did complete lvling of my wolf as i decribes earier (in ToPK) and im happy with a hearty wolf. i guess to make a dire one you gotta start (if low lvl pet) from easy missions, maby in maguma or kryta... when monsters are his lvl or lower.
