Main Prophicies Character and Crossing over
Just curious to know..maybe someone higher up in the knowledge chain may be able to answer.
Over the past 9 months of playing, me and my Avatar have grown a special bond, my main character(warrior/everything) and his sister character(ranger/everything) have been through alot...They rock and i love them and frankly i'll be God damned if im gonna try and form that special bond with a new charcacter. However there is something i must ask and the answer will indeed hinder my gameplay and motivation of said gameplay..My question is.. Once factions is released and i bring my Dear faithfull Warrior over to cantha maxed out in all aspects, does this mean i will dominate the first half of the Factions campaign because he is lvl 20 with all atts and max stuff?? Or will ANET have some plan to impliment a system where ascended characters from Prophecies face hi lvl enemies from the off..thanx for reading, and thanx in advance for all feed back. JW |

You'll have to wait until it is released to find out.

This is a good question. I'm playing my 3rd character in Phofecies and I got some runs and skipped some of the first missions. Now that I'm lvl 20 I'm going back to finish those missions and I completely kill everything (all the lower lvl enemies). For the most part the people who where in my group killed 1 enemy while I took out 4-5... basically a run.
As Factions is supposed to be a stand alone, I imagine that the first missions will be with lower lvl enemies. I always wonder if grouping with beginner people (lvl 6) and going about killing everything with your lvl 20 ruins the game for those people. Or a group of lvl 20's would easily finish more than 3/4of the missions in no time until it started getting a little more challenging. |

My guild has a bit of a theory about this.
We think that, similar to Tyria's pre-sear area, Cantha will have a zone (possibly the big city area on the northern part of Cantha) dedicated to reaching level 20. After that, you will head out into what we are seeing in the preview. This could be wrong, but it seems pretty logical, based on what we have seen so far. |

You guys are probably right, there probably is a large contiguous section of the game that is for lvl 20's. So far in the FPE, this might just be it.
But I'd like a large transition area between the whatever is analgous to pre-searing, just so I can get a feel of things and see how things attack, what the names of their monks are so I know what to attack first, with my lvl 20 Prophecies guys. When I think I have a decent feel of things, I'll start off my baby assn and rit. Also, by going through the high level Factions areas with my Prophecies guys, I can collect up some runes, gear and collector items for my babies to help them along. I think that'll be my strategy.... |

Well, if you look at it the other way around (taking a Factions Character into Tyria), you'll note that they'd get dropped off about 1/3 of the way through the campaign, at Lion's Arch. Something similar will probably happen going the other way.

can you run from LA to old Ascalon? Or does a mission cross some invisible barrier?
I think Yak's connects the two but I"m not sure about this oh back to the previous poster's point: if you can go back to old Ascalon, then it's just pre-searing that Factions guys are missing out on. |

I have noticed that in the Marketplace, there are other portals, but there are closed off. I'm not sure what for but those areas are probably open after Factions is released. So of your ideas seem real too, but theres only one way to find the correct answer: wait until Factions is released and play!

THERE WILL BE ABOUT 80% OF THE CONTENT SUITABLE FOR YOUR ASSCENDED LEVEL 20 CHARACTER. THAT SEEMS CLEAR TO ME note this. try taking your trial maxed out weekend event character out by itself and see how far you get. that is your answer |
