How do I beat the Char at the Gate Quest? - Guild Wars Forums

I think the title says it all. I"m a level 8 R/N trying to do this and gotten my ass kicked at least 10 times now. I've tried every combination I can think of but nothing seems to work. Tried power shot, then vamparic touch, etc, etc. but this is the first one that seems really tough to me. Even tried running away like the sniveling coward I am, but the SOB's just keep running after me, and they keep killing my pet "Sparky" which is REALLY starting to annoy me as well.

Any help greatly appreciated

No I can't find any of them. I think I'm to early in the game aren't I? If not, how do you find them? I have no idea.

I had one other question as well. I have 8 skill points to use but can't figure out how to use them unless I find a trainer. And I have no clue as to where one is.

Fezz is in pre-searing I think, where the grass is nice and green and there are a lot of feathery Striders all over the place. Henchies don't exsist that early on.

Hey guys. Just wanted to let you know that I did the quest. This morning when I logged in and tried the quest I had Prince Ruric (or whatever his name is) and a few guards, helping me in the quest and it was ridiculously easy.

Could this be some kind of bug or something?

Hey Fezz no thats not a bug thats the way the quest is supposed to go. Prince Rurik tells you to follow him. He and his Henchies take the brunt of the attack all you really need to do is support them and the mission pretty much completes itself for you. Gives you a tase if the nasty char battles to come though.

Thx very much. Both excellent threads! I had no idea that maybe it was time for me to "move on" to post searing, (whatever that is, lol). I think I'm going to go along for a bit longer and try to find a few more quests before trying that however.

To me it's kinda fun to go out and fight the easier mobs to try out different skill combos and what not.

Is there some "mystic task" to activate this quest? I can't seem to get this one offered or the Charr in the catacombs, the beatiful items quests or the hungry devourer?

The Charr in the catacombs quest is offered by Urik in Ascalon city.
The beautyful items quest is offered by two soldier very close to that mesmer women at the theatre close to the entrance of Ascalon city.
The hungy devour quest is give by a man close to Devona, just behind the wall. I think you first have to finish all quests of Devona for that. Visit Devona several times for that.

well early in game you can have 1 team mate, so get some1 that does same quest, then get Rurik to tank and youll be fine with a 3 group
