Salvaging Runes from Armor
Is there any rhyme or reason as to when you can salvage a rune from armor and when you can't; or is it pure chance?
Maybe this should go under the stupid things I've done list I saw somewhere else, but after salvaging many inconsequential runes without trouble as I upgraded my armor I lost a rune of superior vigor. Last edited by grikdog; Apr 05, 2006 at 04:11 AM // 04:11.. |

Using an expert/superior salvage kit will always net you a rune.

I just salvaged my 55 monk gear and out of 5 peices i got 3 runes back. it's not a bad percentage, but still lost 2 runes in the process. (got parchment back as that was the material used in crafting the tattoos.) |

Ya, monster armor-gold, purple, or blue from drops-you will salvage if you use a expert/superior (no diff between expert and sup in chance of salvaging) Ya, I salvaged my running gear from my war and got 14 iron instead of my sup absorbtion

Note that you should not just expect a blue monster armor to give a rune if you didn't ident it yet. Blue monster armor could have a rune, but it could also just be "highly salvageable".
And, yea, I lost a rune last night buying 1.5K armor. That's why I never put valueable runes on until I have the armor I know I'm going to keep for good. |

Theres no actual rule, but Sod's Law generally fits. If it's expensive, you probably won't get it back, just to annoy you.

It seems that I've had worse luck on that lately. Salvaged 5 pieces of armor...0 runes back

So, this is with any armor drop? Or just drops from critters? For example, purple armor from a Chest... yes/no?
As an aside, does this apply to weapons as well? |
