There is a dark river. You have to wade through it. That should work.

Go through the slow water, stick to the left, past and through the bones. Turn left, go through portal, you will be in the area of the temple. Kill char, click on altar, collect ashes. Done.

It still works that way, has since october when I started playing up until at least two days ago. You have to have completed dukes daughter first though. Then you can just buy the ashes and get a quick 2k experience.
Although for first time players, I recommend they go through the quest the normal way. Then I tell them after they did it, that on subsequent characters they can save the time just buying the ashes. |

yes it does, you can buy them and go right to the Duke and cash it in for the xp. kinda a cheap way to do it.

Don't buy them if it's your first time. It's a tough quest, especially for new players, but I think its an experience you should partake in.
Honestly, the first time I did it, we died over and over... but in the end, we finally got those ashes. It's kinda scary to look out for your frist time and see fifty charr waiting to pounce. |

I agree. Why not simply buy all quest items, and tell all the kids at school that Guild Wars is easy. After that, you give the game to your little sister. Every now and than you dance in Droksnar, and everybody will think you're cool :P |

Altheas Ashes
Start at Grendich Courthouse and then turn left when leaving. Stay on the path until you get to the river and then wade right in (lots of Devourers) and go past the bones and you will reach the Flame Temple Corridor.
Once you get to the alter you only have to survive long enough to to touch it. Last edited by grikdog; Apr 14, 2006 at 03:39 PM // 15:39.. |

Yes you can still buy ahses and use them, fastest way is to have both zone areas, buy the ashes than zone back and forth and talk to the ghost.

I farm the Flame Corridor area with my 20 E/Mo nuker. I'd be glad to have you accompany me and I'll show you how to do it. Look for me in the game - mark me as a friend and you'll see if I'm on.

The best way to do this is to complete the dukes daughter quest. Then when you get the ashes quest, in town, abandon it, you keep the urn. Talk to the duke again, he gives you the quest again. Rinse and repeat. Then when you have as many urns as you want, AND have the quest, go to the altar and click on it as many times as you have urns, they will turn into ashes. Then you sell them or use them or give them to guildies/friends/etc. |

Yeah I screwed that up the first time I did it. I had already completed it with my first character and on my latest did all the abandonning to get the urns. I gave them to that first character since it was easier to take him there quickly. No ashes. Had to give them back to my other character until she was ready to do the quest.
