Best self-heal?
Thinking of changing Necromancer's secondary for a self healing skill with about 9 to 10 in the attribute. What would be the best self-heal as a secondary profession?
This is what I'm think so far: Monks' Orison of Healing (5 energy, 1 cast, 2 recharge) relatively low heal Monks' Heal Party (15 energy , 2 cast, 0 recharge) relatively low, but heals everyone in party Monks' Healing Touch <-- totally not viable for nonmonk Monks' Heal Area (10 energy, 1 cast, 5 recharge) relatively high heal for the cost but heals enemies also Mesmers' Ether Feast (5 energy, 2 cast, 8 recharge) Warriors' Healing Signet (0 energy, 2 cast, 4 recharge) -40 Armor while using Rangers' Troll Unguent (5 energy, 3 cast, 10 recharge) a bad idea since it heals only degen effectively. |

Necro main has a really good variety of healing spells, although most come with the caveat (or blessing) of an additional effect. If you're death necro, taste of death is really nice spell, but needs a corpse. Blood magic has a lot of damage dealing AND healing spells... What kind of style do you use?
The main issue is energy efficiency... it's not worth healing the entire pt for 15 energy if only you need it, and if you could have used a number of low cost necro skills in the meantime |

i would say troll ungent, because thats around 200 points of healing over 10 seconds....
but still...blood magic is the best self heal |

The only viable *healing* spells to use on any type of monk secondary would be Heal Area / Heal Other / Infuse Health / Healing Seed. So, to answer your question, Heal Area.

Heal Sig gets my vote, costs no mana and heals alot for a 2 seconds cast. I prefer heal sig over troll unguent anyday.

What about Healing Breeze?
It's pretty much the same thing as Troll Unguent, only with a recast time of only 2 (costs 10 energy instead of 5 though). I'm a fan of Troll Unguent and Healing Breeze for some reason. I like to keep the those pips rolling non-stop. But seeing as how you're a Necro, you may already be using a regen healing spell (like Life Syphon), so maybe you should consider complemeting that with a spike healing spell. Heal Other would be a good choice. |

Heal Other unfortunately is not a self-heal. Heal "Other" .

Hmmn, I thought Heal Other could be cast on yourself (like OoH).
Maybe not, I don't remember. |

The best Monk self heal is healing breeze hand down but for Necro Primary I always thought it would be blood renewal or as one mentioned life siphion.I always use my primary as a self heal I see a lot of War/Monks useing breeze when there is their signet which is what I use with my Warrior.
btw don't use heal area unless it is for your minions or horrors personally i don't like any of them if you die they turn on your party. Last edited by Age; Aug 30, 2005 at 12:57 AM // 00:57.. |

If you are a necro, you usually don't stand near the enemy. And I won't use minions because I am going curses. Last edited by LifeInfusion; Aug 30, 2005 at 01:30 AM // 01:30.. |

Why not take the extra attributes you plan to put into healing yourself and just put them into blood...

For death necros, Consume Corpse and Taste of Death are very good healing. |

Why not go for a good monk protection spell instead? If you suddenly get whailed on by the other team, a good protection spell will give your monks time to get to you. Your job is not to heal yourself, thats what monks are there for. You will be able to act quicker than a monk usually, so whack a protection prayer on yourself and u are cool till the monks get to you.

He's asking about heals for necro primaries, so healing touch is out of the question.
For necros primaries, you really shouldn't be leaving your primary for self heals. |
