Roleplay and premade?
Hi!
I have`nt started playing GW yet, and I wonder if I can choose roleplaying instead of PVP Only and have a custom made charr! Is this possible? |

You can make 4 characters, and for each character you choose between roleplay and PVP. PVP gets automatic level 20 and maximum armor and weapons, but the bonuses and a huge majority of skills are unlocked in roleplay. I suggest you create a roleplaying character and complete the game until you try PVP only characters. Roleplaying characters get more weapon types and armor types and other customization options than PVP only characters, but it costs in-game money and time.

if you prefer pvp you can use a pve (rp) character in pvp areas. skills and other items are redeemed for faction which you earn in pvp. rp is NOT the only option |

You can do 2 things:
1. Make a PvE character. It starts at level 0 or 1 and you have to level it up and fight monsters and mean things. Monsters and other things will drop items and gold. You can level up to level 20, etc... PvE characters can explore the world and fight in PvE areas. They can also fight eachother in player vs player areas. 2. Make a PvP character. It starts at level 20, everything is maxed (best items, armour, doesn't need gold). It can only be used to fight other players. Both types need skills and items. While PvP get good items at the start, they don't get the full range of modifications for these items. Both types get skills to start out with but they don't get the full range of skills. PvE is known to be the fastest way to get normal skills. PvP is a bit easier to get elites imo. All skills you unlock in PvE are automatically unlocked for your PvP characters. Almost all skills unlocked in PvP are indirectly unlocked for your PvE characters (you don't get Elites this way and you still have to buy all the skills for gold on your PvE chars). Most people get 3 PvE characters and 1 PvP character (you can delete and remake your PvP character without losing anything). I have too much time on my hands. |

Faction points are also much better for getting rare runes and weapon mods. |

Or i could go do PvP and be able to unlock a new skill after ages of tedious Faction farming in RA/TA where you will always find builds that do nothing but piss you off. Playing pure PvP from step 1 is just stupid, you need at least a skill base to begin with, unlock all skills for a monk or something and build from there. Regarding elites tell me this. Whats faster to get these elite skills? Wither, Signet of Mignight, Glyph of Renewal, Elemental Attunement, Power Block, Charge, Crippling Shot, Healing Hands, Echo. PvP = 9 x 3000 faction = 27000 faction. That would take you a hell of a long time to get unless you happen to be in a VERY good guild team, which most of us don't have the privalige of. Or PvE = 9k max on signets and having done all the 2nd prof quests. Take henchman, run out of Ember Camp to the nearest boss spawn, kill em, cap em, run back. Repeat. 1 takes about 30-45 minutes, 1 will take you ages. Bet you can't guess which is which? Same could be said for SS, SB, Mind Shock, IW, Sig oJ outside Rankor. There are no elites in the game that can be gained faster from Faction, even Obsidian Flesh that can take hours to get hold of sometimes if you unlucky. Unless you have excess faction there is no point. |

I think I am reading his question differently to everyone else.
I think he is asking Can you make a pre made character for role playing, in the same way you can in PVP. If that is the question, then the answer is No Spice |

If you make a PvE character, you choose appearance, profession, and color of your armor. You'll start out as a level 1 with no skills - BUT, you'll gain skills very quickly in the early stages, and you'll level up fairly quickly from 1 - 10 or so. (the higher the level, the longer it takes to advance.) Every skill you gain on your PvE character is "unlocked" meaning it becomes availiable for use in creating a PvP player.
If you begin a PvP character, there's only a limited amount of skills that you can use at first. This will be a handicap when playing PvP because you'll be limited in what you can do while other players will have better skill sets. It would also be a tougher way to learn how each skill works & how to use skills together for maximum results. Gaining faction points in PvP to use to unlock more skills will be tough for someone who's just starting out, so I'd go with the PvE character first. |
