Questions about Pre Ordering Factions - Guild Wars Forums

So you need a key to access the preview event on Thursday, 4/27, correct? My question is, how do you get the key? I'm assuming you can only get the key if you pre order the factions game online. I just bought the game from my local EB Games retailer and all I got was a receipt.....I don't see a key of any kind. The guy behind the counter tried to tell me that you had to have the collector's edition to participate in the pre order event but the collector's edition won't be available for another month.......brilliant.

Did I miss something or was there no mention of the fact that you had to pre order your factions online to get the access key for the pre view event?

Also, does anyone know if the special pre order pack of factions gives you access to special items?

Well, I pre-ordered on-line in January and still haven't heard anything about a key! I've just resigned my self to the fact that I'll have to wait a further 24 hours.

I pre-ordered the collectors edition and was sent a special pre-order cd with the keys (of course it was sent after the beta event of which they included keys for)....I have entered the keys.....you should contact the retailer again and speak to someone knowledgeable----according to anet/pc whatever, the retailers do INDEED have the pre-order keys (at least some keys).....be presistant! and good luck

You do know that inorder to get the keys you have to have the pre order version, there is the option of pre ordering the actual game - which is around what $50, and there is the seperate pre order version which is used for beta events/24 hour start which costs 10 dollars. So im guessing you had pre ordered the actual retail game online. hence why you didn't get the key.
