NCSoft Decides to Diss Customers
I finally got a straight answer about from NCSoft as to what happens to all those who pre-ordered Collector's Edition (CE).
In short, they expect you to purchase both the regular and CE versions of the game. Here's their email to me and my response to them..... ----- NC SOFT BEGIN --- Thank you for contacting the Guild Wars Support Team regarding the Guild Wars Factions Collector???s Edition game boxes. We regret to inform you that there could be a delay in the delivery of the Collector???s Edition boxes to the retailers. We assure you they were shipped to those retailers as quickly as possible. However, please be aware that the Customs regulations in some countries may further delay the delivery of those game boxes to the retailers. If you have already registered a Factions pre-order access key to your account, you will be able to access the Head Start when it begins. You will also have two extra character slots* available to you during the Head Start. If you are not able to register your Collector???s Edition Access Key to your account prior to the end of the Head Start, you will not be able to continue accessing the Factions game content. However, the characters you created in those two extra character slots will remain for a 10-day grace period (though will be unplayable). If you are able to register your Collector???s Edition key to your account prior to the end of this grace period, you will be able to retain those two characters. If you are not able to register your Collector???s Edition key until after that grace period expires, the two character slots will no longer show on your account. Once you register your Collector???s Edition key, the character slots will return, but will be blank. Please keep in mind that you are able to ???stack??? a Collector???s Edition Access Key on an account that already has a Standard Edition Access Key registered. You can, of course, register a Standard Edition key to your account in order to ensure continued access to the Factions game content and the extra character slots while you are waiting on the arrival of your Collector???s Edition game box. We sincerely apologize for any frustration or inconvenience this issue may have caused, and hope for the speedy receipt of your Collector???s Edition game box. Kind Regards, The Guild Wars Support Team * Please keep in mind that you will only receive two extra character slots (totaling six) if you have previously registered a Guild Wars Prophecies Access Key to your account. If you do not have a Prophecies key registered to your account, you will only have four character slots total. ----- NC SOFT END --- ----- ME BEGIN --- So, To thank me for my extra patronage, ie, paying more for the CE, you now expect me to buy the regular version on top of CE. You guys are friggin' nuts. What are your executives smoking? This is absolutely 180 degrees opposite of customer satisfaction and retention practices. FIRED!!!! is what I would say to all your execs. This is wholly unacceptable and according to your website FAQ, you promised CE to be released simultaneously with the regular version. If you decide to delete characters after the grace period, expect to hear from my lawyers. This problem lies entirely with NCSoft and it customers should not be penalized. Informing us of your incompetence of distribution problem a few days before release and expecting me to buy the same game twice is just plain insane. I will sell all of your executives a clue cheap. EXTEND THE PRE-ORDER KEYS FOR EVERYONE WHO BOUGHT CE. and if you can't do that, EXTEND THE PRE-ORDER KEYS FOR EVERYONE!!!!! Better to error on the side of the consumer than upsetting them off. Think about it guys, what kind of reward is this for those who paid more for the same game? I wanted the special emotes and now I get hosed for it? ----- ME END --- |

I don't like you because apparently you think "Questions and Answers"="Rant Here".

Although it's a shame that the CE was delayed, there's not much we can do. And they didn't exactly tell you to buy another copy of GW, just inform you that there is the possibility.
Anyways, this is neither a question nor an answer, so closed. |
