How to find a single misson/quest direction
I searched but didn't seem to find anything on this.
I notice that if I have more than one mission in my quest log that I can click the mission and the direction shows up on the compass but if I only have one nothing happens. How can I tell what direction I should travel if I just have a single quest/mission? Thanks. wolfsong |

It's got nothing to do with that. The arrow only shows up when you're within one area of the quest area.
Which quest is it you're looking for? |

That's odd because whenever I have two quest I could switch back and forth and get a ping on the compass showing direction. As soon as I finished one quest I couldn't get a ping for the other but I knew the direction already. Now I have a new quest for Shalev to find fire Callers in the Breach.

As was said it has nothing to do with the number of quest that you currently have. What you probably did was to select the quest the first time within a 1 area range so that it would actually show. Then the next time you selected it, which also just happened to be the time that it was the only quest that you had, you were proably out of that 1 area range.
To find Fire Callers in the Breach just enter the Breach either via Old Ascalon or Piken Square. Then roam around until you find a Fire Caller that happens to drop the item that you need for the quest. There is no 1 particular Fire Caller that you need as they tend to roam around the entire area. |

Just to be clear what do you mean by 1 area range? I wasn't anywere near where I was trying to go. The ping sorta should off map to give me a general direction not inside the map area of the compass.

What that means is that if you have a quest in Old Ascalon and you select that quest in Ascalon City (1 area spot away) you will have a green arrow show up as a ping on your compass. However, if you are in Piken Square (2 area spots away) you will not get the green arrow ping.
Therefore, when you selected the quest the first time you were proably in Piken Square or Old Ascalon as both are 1 area spot away from The Breach. The second time around you might have been in Ascalon City or Regent Valley as an example. This is regardless of how many quests you currently have in your quest log. |

No I was in Old Ascalon and both quest were in Old Ascalon. When I had both quests, if I clicked the deselected quest in the log a ping would appear on the compass. I haven't been to Piken Square yet and was in Old Ascalon the entire accept for the Sardelac Sanitarium which was not where I was trying to do this. I left the Sardelac Sanitarium almost immediately because I accidently wandered in. As soon as I find the Breach I'll test it again but pretty I'm certain that I was only in Old Ascalon at the time.

Right now I'm in Ascalon City and was given a quest that is in Old Ascalon. When I click that quest the ping shows in the compass. The other quest (in the Breach) however still does not give a ping. Maybe it's only a matter of distance and not area?

Old Ascalon is an area. The Breach is an Area. A "1 area distance" means that the area you are currently in is adjacent to the area you need to go to. Ascalon city is adjacent to Old Ascalon, therefore you will get pings from quests in Old Asaclon if you are in Ascalon City. The Breach is NOT adjacent to Ascalon City. Therefore you will NOT get pings from quests in The Breach if you are in Ascalon City. Old Ascalon is adjacent to The Breach however, so you will get a ping from a quest in The Breach if you are in Old Ascalon.

Also, is there an easy way to tell what area you're in? Even though I've wandered all over Old Ascalaon it does not show on the map. Other areas like Ascalon City and the North Wall do appear. |

Ok I kind of understand where you are coming from. Essentially what happened is that you missed the initial ping that the quest generated the moment that you got it. Since you don't have another quest to switch to then back again to get the ping you are stuck without the ping. However, the green arrow should still be on the edge of your compass. Furthermore, you should be able to bring up your Local Map and see the Green location marker, which is the entrance to The Breach.
As far as knowing where you are just bring up your World Map and it will tell you. Old Ascalon will not have a location marker such as Ascalon City or the Great Northern Wall as it's not a warp point. At the bottome of the World Map there will be a type of banner that will tell you where you currently are regardless. |

Local Map would be whatever you have Open Windowed Map set as via the keyboard setup options. Mine has been changed to the M key and I really don't remember what the default keybind is.

Hmm... I've had a similar situation. I was in the area of the quest but no ping, no green arrow (Regent Valley the Charr problem, I was in Regent Valley. even checked the world map, nothing).. I had several other quests to switch back and forth but whenever I switch back to that quest, I got nothing. Other quests in the same area (Cities of Ascalon and Paulus) show the ping. Somehow, when I got back to Old Ascalon, the ping shows correctly.
It only happened to me once. Maybe a glitch... |

That is to do with that particular quest, when you zone into regent valley and load the map there are no charr in the area, you get the quest to kill some charr, but they are not loaded on your current map. So you nead to zone out then back in, the game sees you have the quest to kill the charr so it loads up the charr group for you to kill. |

I've done the search and this is the closest thread I could find about the Breach mission. I'm doing the mission with the Fire Callers. I'm in Old Ascalon and I can't find the way to get to the other side where Piken Square is...(also have a mission to go there also...). Um...how do I get there? Please help....I've ran around everywhere trying to find the enterance!!! Thanks in advance.
