I bought the standard Factions, but I want CE.
I don't know if anyone has mentioned this yet because the "search" function wasn't working.
I put an advance $10 down for Factions, intending on buying the CE on release day. Well, with no CE on release day, I got the standard version. The problem is, I still WANT the CE. I think ANet should offer some sort $20 CE upgrade package for people like me who were very disappointed by the CE situation. I'm sure they won't do this because printing and packaging is expensive, but I think they owe it to us. We were promised a CE with specific GW trinkets both in-game and out, and they did not deliver on that promise. I would still be happy to give them the $20 price difference between the standard and the CE if they gave me the chance! |

Yeah, I also put pre-order money down for Factions, and have not picked it up since they don't have the CE. I will wait till they get the CE and switch my pre-order money towards that.
I also just noticed that I could not play my factions characters today, even though I have been for the last few days... I guess the 10 extension is no more or something is messed up... |

I wanted to know if there were other people out there that got the standard edition only because the CE wasn't out yet. I want all the CE stuff, and I shouldn't be punished for wanting the game the day it came out. I want the chance to pay that $20 difference and get the stuff I missed out on. |

Flapper,
On one hand as a consumer, i agree with you. Anet gave us all the shaft. Heck i even filed a complaint through their support system and they had the nerve to blame it on "your local retailer". Great customer service there... On the other hand, I'm also a marketing major. A business won't stay in business long if they go around allowing everyone to say "gee, I made a choice but I don't like my choice, it's your fault." You could have waited for the CE (one week really won't make that big of difference), but instead chose to get the regular. They can't sell that box to another person now... it's opened software, etc... And if they start allowing people to pay a $20 "upgrade" for ingame bonuses... than I want to do the same for the Prophecies Collectors and Special Editions... But you know what? it doesn't work that way... If you still think you've been shafted, think of all those poor WoW players in the first few months, where there was almost as much downtime as up... and Blizzard said "So?". Business makes the world go round, and if they have a product they know people will buy, they can act any way they want really... Sad, but true. and the whole "delete your characters" thing was apparently just everyone miss reading the words "Faction characters will be removed after 10 days"... According to Anet, that means you won't be able to create new characters after 10 days... silly us... |

I also bought the standard edition, but I was aware of the repurcussions of doing so.
Like Riphawk said, they aren't going to offer the "$20 upgrade", because then people who bought an entire unused CE for prophecies to add to an existing account would start to scream, and then it would snowball, etc. (I would be one of the people screaming about the Prophecies CE, by the way ) to quote the Breakfast Club: "Why can he get up? If he gets up, we'll all get up, it will be anarchy!" |

Rather than asking for a $20 upgrade, maybe we should ask for a special bonus for linking a reg. Factions with CE.
Bonus slots, something. Anet, if you're reading, think of the extra $$$ you'd be making! |

Flapper - I'm in the exact same situation you're in. See the store I ordrered from claimed they had no idea when they were getting them. I did not want my chars I started in Factions to get deleted, so I bought the SE. I FULLY intended to get the CE, but could not buy it. I guess I will be punished for not being "patient". If I would have known what I know now, I would not have bought the SE - Bah - oh well.

I sent an email to ANet account support this evening. In it I asked if it would be possible to purchase Factions CE, add that key to my account, and give the standard Factions key that I had been using to my friend. I don't think this is possible, but it would be an awfully good solution for me. I don't think I can separate my standard edition Factions key from my account and not effect my characters.

Can't you just buy the CE now and use that code (overwriting your standard factions code) w/o messing up your chrs?

i was plaining to to get the CE too and then all the delayed shit and stuff, i still am going to get it down the line, but i think its a bunch of BS, but you do get the mini pet which is cool, but i they should have had something worthe. I ended up getting the se of it becuase i didn't want to lose my stuff from the pre-order and then they change it and make it longer and it total made me mad. I plain to get the CE and use that key to overwrite the se key. But i think it would be cooler with a update or something.

If you really wanted the CE you would have just waited a few extra days like I did. I don't mean to be a jerk or anything but you knew what you were doing when you did it, and now you don't have the CE. Patience is a virtue, people should learn it.

I have CE, what's this about a mini-pet?
Is anybody disappointed that Factions CE doesn't have divine aura, cause I am.... |
