Default question on 15% always swords/axes....

If you were choosing between -5 energy, -10 armor, -1 energy regen or -1 health regen, which would you choose and why???

the only 15% always weapon i use is a -5 energy zealous axe which i use with my ranger's high expertise to easily keep my energy high while spamming swift chop, cyclone axe, etc

-5 Energy, IMO, is by far the best modifier. You can always use Gladiator's armor to offset the energy loss if you're addicted to 20 Energy.

None of the above. Depending on the build, I make while enchanted, in a stance, or ^50 essentially always. And then you don't have a negative side of things.

Yeah. Health degen is never attractive, and energy degen... well.. a ranger with 2 energy regen is pretty sad, unless of course you have 15 expertise and a zealous bow+barage. The -10 armor while attacking is never any fun... just out of personal experience.

Personally id choose -10 armor (for 8v8) because as a warrior you rarely are attacked. However in 4v4, -5 energy would be best as warriors do sometimes take more flak then in 8v8.

I dont understand your logic people.

Most of you choose the -5 energy, but if you offset it with gladiators armor, you still loose that -5 energy that you could have had. If you offset it with a zealous mod, you sacrifice that extra 20/20/other mod you could have had.

IMO -1 health regen is the best. Why? Because when you fight, your health regen does not kick off untill everyone stopped hitting you. So it seems to me that you are really not sacrificing anything when you have this penalty. After the fight is over and your health regen kicks off, you can simply switch to another weapon to regen quickly. The only exception where this would be a penalty is if you were using skills like Healing Breeze or Troll Ungruent. And I'm not even sure what "kind" of regen the -1 hp penalty pertains to.. Is it regen from skills, or automatic over time regen? Or is it any kind of regen??

Also, I can offset the -1 health regen with health replentishing skills, like vengeful veapon and the sort.


EDIT: Yikes! I completely forgot that -1 hp degen would act like a vampiric leech on you. So the only way to offset is to constantly steal life.

The above post did not make any sense at all... o_O 20/20 mod is worth sacrificing. For warriors they can rely on adrenal skills instead of energy skills especially now they have skills that build adrenaline faster for them.

Personally -5 energy is the better mod purely for the fact that it doesn't kill you. -1hp degen kills you -10 armor while attacking kills you especially if you get hit by a spike -1energy degen kills (from not being able to use your skills) you cause now you have lost a pip of energy regen meaning you energy pool recharge 1/3 of the time longer.

-5energy on the other hand is a flat figure no more no less. Rangers negate this by wearing druid and having high expertise. Warriors can wear Gladiator and choose more adrenal skills.
