Hi,

My friend recently got kicked off guildwars with an err=7 and could not log back in. He contacted customer support and after a week they got back to him saying that he had been permanently banned for selling in game items for real life cash.

The thing is, this is a mistake. He has never been involved in that kind of scamming and being a 40 year old programmer, has more than enough cash to bother with ebay and all that rubbish.

Our guild Star Cainam, is a friendly, helpful guild. We have ethics that we stick to - you'll quite often see me in ascalon giving gold items away. My friend is of this same nature, plays the game for fun and assists ANYONE in game.

The reason I have posted here - (probably the incorrect place), is that I was hoping to find out if there was any technical way an error like this could have occured. Has my friend been caught up by mistake in the bot account clearout etc?

We in the guild are really in a quandry over this and players are considering leaving the game for good, myself included - even though we have just bought factions.

I hope you can assist my guild as we try to get one of our most senior members re-instated. His main character's name is Arlan Tempus if that helps at all.
