Honestly if you are starting with nothing, not even friends to draw from, then perhaps you should join another guild.

There are guild registers and emblemers in some towns to start one and make a cape. Then visit the guild halls and pick one you want and buy a sigil, all that is available at the halls.

As far as recruiting, start helping people in the early areas of the game and ask those who are not in a guild if they wish to join yours. It is pretty hard to start with no members though, that's not a lot of incentive to join up.

Don't even worry about an alliance if you have no guild members. You invite a guild like you invite a person into your guild, except it costs 1000g instead of 100g.

If you do get going then get a forum, Forumer provides free ones (see ours as example, link to left). A forum helps you communicate with the guildies and perhaps recruit others if you can get it advertised on forums like this.

Sorry, not trying to be harsh, just expressing the reality of guild life.

1-Starting a guild from scratch is not the easiest thing to do. Most likelly you are going to spend hours upon hours of sitting in towns and spamming for members. Now this method works for some but others makes people start to flame you. Not to mention as you are going to be the only one in the guild most people might not want to join.

If you have friends that would join up with you right away would be an easier way to get some starter people in your guild so you have some substance. Or buy a guild from someone who is selling one (not highlly reccomended but...) and hope the people left stay in it.

2-Making an alliance is very easy. All you do is find an alliance that is looking for other guilds and they will invite you. Just remember that some guilds only want substance (as in faction farmers). So if this is not what you are looking for out of a alliance make sure you ask before hand.

It is always nice to run your own guild. With the game being out as long as it has though best bet imho pray you have people who will join right away. Or join a nice guild.

sigh....

obviously you don't even have any plans as to what to do with their your guild.

it seems like you want a guild just for the sake of having one.

i think it would be a waste of time for anyone to help you recruit members or to join your guild.

anyone starting a guild should ask themselves these two questions.

1. what is the point of your guild?

2. why should anyone choose your guild when there so many others to choose from?

and to be honest, i don't think you have what it takes to lead a guild, if you can't even develop a basic plan to expand your guild.

if you did find someone to help you, you might as well make them the guild leader since they'll end up doing most of the work.

I'll take a stab at it...

1) The point of the guild is clearly to help Pino out in all aspects of the game, and perhaps outside of the game.

2) Why should anyone choose his guild? Because he is a man of you words. No boring loquacious orations from this guy!

Thank youender6.

I will answer them as well now.

1. A guild that plays GvG's with experienced ppl. PvE only, but PvP for GvG if you dont have the right characters for a GvG. A guild that is friendly and has fun oustide serious situations like GvG's (you must take them serious). We are going to organise maybe to 1v1 or 2v2 or whatever scrimmages so we have a like top whatever so guys can beat other guys and you can have more and more fun.

2. This is not a easy question, i think because we are going to organize tournaments and play much GvG's in the future (when there will be more members). But there are always other guilds that do the same. But i would say because we have fun but can also be serious in GvG's and organize stuff for the guild and have a communication. (Im getting phpNuke, have TS Svr channel)

I think i answerd these question well now.

I hope i will hear more from you nohooiam.

There's plenty of ideas out there , you just need a theme.
A theme is basically what your guild intends to achieve in GW's.
From the theme of your guild you can create a name and begin to guide your guild towards it's objectives. The process of creating a theme can always be helped along by the players you quest with earlier on or some friends that you've met that may influence you and importantly your experiences and interpretations of the game help create a theme.

Think time frame as well . When do you intend to be GvG ?
How many hrs a day will your members will be active ?
Are all your members in the same time frame part of the world? Do they have similar goals/objectives as your guild ?

All these things will help shape your theme and then your guild name and any subsequent titles that officers may want to take on.

Your starting now to create a core of players , these are the characters and people that will be the foundation of your guild, you will want to be as much yourself with them as you can be and allow them to be themselves. Hopefully alot of the questions asked above about your guild your playerbase will be suited to. If thats the case then you can start to train with your members and move further along the time line reaching for the guilds goals and later open up the doors for more recruits.

Main reason I have found that players leave guilds without saying so is lack of activity. You need to decide how you can supply your guild with activity. Maybe just talking in guild chat exchanging ideas, asking questions about the professions in guild wars. There are many ways you can keep up guild morale- social events , outings to unexplored territories, conquering missions , training tests and exchange ideas in pvp practice.

My suggestion is to approuch non guilded characters by wipsering a hello and simply describing your guild and ask them if they think they'd like be a part of a guild like yours , don't pressure anyone leave them with a site address if you have one and wait it out, ,likely they'll think on it and in the long run your patience will succeed over other guilds spams. =) Goodluck

LOL...

Pino, my apologies, it's just that your concise fashion of speaking (eg. I am Pino) reminds me of a comedy skit "Call me conquistador". Regardless, from reading your actual desires for a guild, it would seem to me that you are looking to joing a guild rather that start a guild. Further, I think you would find it far more easy and far more beneficial to join a guild at this time as opposed to starting one yourself.

I am ender...

To ender6:
Why did u say: ''My apologies?''
(Sorry i am dutch, i dont understand everything u say, u have a difficult english speaking way ^^)
To aisius: I am trying already in droknars forge, cause i thought, if i go reruit in ascalon, i only get new players, and my plan was a bit to get experienced players, so they already know what to do and stuff. I have now a bit like 10 members... I bought a guild hall immediatly, and its nice. The ppl talk in guild chat much, have fun. But most arent so experienced... What shall i do... Leave them in the guild or say i only want experienced ppl, thats a bit rude... I dont know what to do...

I just think be creative.

See if there's anywhere in the game guildies would like to form in groups and go and kill some stuff.

That's sort of what i was thinking. Or even get to know a particular mission. See how fast the guild team can get through the mission and get a measure for what skill lvls everyone is at, get to know their strengths and weaknesses and go from there.

Main thing is to have a regular activity, something that the guild members can look forward to and discuss in guild chat at there leasure.

Even do some research into the user inteface of guild wars and what style best suites certain professions, just get talking and working together. The players you have now will keep guilding with you knowing that they're a part of something.

Hope it works out.

Yeah something like HA,TA,GvG ect for a regular activity is probally one of the main factors of having a guild.

Just be creative like maybe have guild lotto each week or something

I hope it turns out good for ya!

You need to rethink this part. Every guild wants to be an active all encompassing guild. The problem is there have been about a million guilds that tried to do this and fell flat on their face. I still don't see your plan for keeping the guild past the one month mark.
