Armour Question
Hi, I would like to know what the most powerful armour in the game is. (the cheapest of the most powerful armour that a lvl 10 or so can wear, that is.)
I'll post more later, I'm in a hurry... |

armor isn't restricted because your lvl is too low
you can go to Kaineng Center or Droknar's Forge by getting a runner for droknar by hiring a famed Forge runner. |

Does it cost a lot to hire a famed Forge runner? Around how much does it cost for him to run to Droknor's Forge? (excluding price of armour) Also, full Droknor Forge's Armour costs 1 plat and 500 gold, 200 iron ingots and 32 fur, right? So I'll just have to give him that amount of stuff + the fee to run and and he'll give me the armour, right? Any runners you pros recommend? They have to live near my time zone in order to give me the stuff, right? My time zone is GMT +8. |

Actually, all you have to do is join the party of the runner, and pay upon arrival. What you do when you get there is your own business, and that includes the purchasing of the armor.
When you arrive at Droknar's forge, you bring your materials to the crafter in the city. It is highly unlikely that the runner will be with you at that time. One full set does not cost 1500 gold. Instead, it's each piece of the armor, not including the materials also needed. All and all, the armor should cost you about 10k or so. As for runners, there are many of them floating around Beacons Perch. Most of them charge 3k a run. If you can not afford that, you can make your way to Lions Arch and then to Kaineng city if you have Factions attatched to your account. That way, you can save yourself 3k, and have an asian-themed armor. |

My god... So that totals to approximately 13 platinums for a full set of Droknar's Forge Armour run for you.
OK, I definately cannot afford that. Can someone or you explain more about the last paragraph? I've bought Guild Wars Factions but just haven't installed it yet but will soon. So I go to Lions Arch, then to Kaineng City, and then what? What is this asian-themed armour? Is it nearly as powerful as the Droknar's Forge Armour? Also, how much does it cost? Also, a bit irrelevant, but in your "Location", you typed Kanada instead of Canada? Why? What's the different? Or is it just something creative you thought of? :P Thank you guys very much, this community's helped a lot so far. |

The armor is just as powerful as forge armor, its just the factions version, it will end up costing you about the same, the only thing you save is the money for the runner, by the way, u cant wear other peoples armors, so giving someone money to go and get you an armor wouldnt be a good idea, you have to craft it yourself! alot of people get riped off because of this.

QUOTE] If you install factions there is a really quick quest you can pick up from the skill trader at Lions Arch to get you over to Kaineng City. Just see the armorer there for your new requirements... bearing in mind the armor is 1.5k a piece + material cost (depending on the version you go for). Asian themed = Factions general theme. Armor stats are the same, it just looks different |

Another option, cheaper but a LOTmore effort, is to get to the Crystal Desert. The collectors armor that you can get there is just as good as Drok's, and you only need critter parts (not gold). IMHO it looks better, but that's all personal pref's.
But at level 10.... it would be an epic journey to get there quickly. You'll need to get run from eastern Kryta (Lion's Arch, for example) through to Sanctum Cay via Talmark Wilderness, Tears of the Fallen, and Stingray Strand. That's a long run! At level 10 you'd have to be very careful, and stay well back from your runner, because you'd be an easy kill. Do the Sanctum Cay mission (again, stay back!) and you'll end up in Amnoon Oasis. Realistically, it's easier to earn the 13 plat and get run to Drok's. But there is another way if you're ambitious. |

So a runner is just sort of like a tank or something? He guides you?
I can't have the runner get the armour from the collector and then ahve him give it to me, can he? Also, I've got another character. A lvl 16 Ranger/Mesmer that is in Divinity Coast. Is that close to Crystal Desert? Can he himself to go Crystal Desert without being killed by mobs on the way there? |

The normal progression thru the game is:
Ascalon North Shiverpeaks Kryta Jungle Desert South Shiverpeaks Fire Islands Completing the Divinity Coast mission will leave you in the jungle. You can upgrade your armor for free by using the collector armor in the jungle and then again in the desert. You can have armor crafted for you at Droknar's Forge in the South Shiverpeaks. I recommend saving your money and playing thru the game, you'll get to the Forge quick enough and if you upgrade your armor with the collectors you'll do fine along the way. All armor is customized to the toon buying or trading a collector for it. There is no buying/selling/trading of armor from other players in this game. |

Honestly, if you haven't beat the game before, don't worry about getting max armour until you get to Droknar's by just playing through normally. By that time you should have enough money to buy it anyway.

No, he means getting the "free" armor from collectors as you go through the game. He said it saved him alot of money. the collectors armor doesn't have the "bonus stats" of the crafted sets, but for moneys sake....they work.

ugh...here what u need to know...the layout of the game makes it so 1 person (in a team) can run the map, and every1 else automatically zones where and when he does, this is called a runner...get ur newbie characture to
A)Beacon's Perch ---pray for a free runner to Droks...most free runners are test runners...meaning they've little experience running the difficult path to Drok's. ---or pay 3K for an experianced runner (warning: do not pay a runner upfront...odds are its a scammer) and get to Droks... OR (assuming u have Factions installed) B) get ur guy to Lions Arch...(storywise, its not far)...do the armorer's quest, go over the the land of Cantha, ...if ur not already, travel to Kaineng City (srry i wouldnt know, i dont have factions, lol) -------------------- once ur in Droknar's Forge or Kaineng City seek out the Armorer...find out the materials that u need....then go to the Material Trader and find out the current prices on the materials...most often there will be sellers spamming the chat, selling the materials u need...if not, u can spam the chat, asking to buy the matiarials...(make sure ur not being ripped off...calculate the cost of it all using the Material Trader...etc...) Either City should cost u about 10K total for ur armor...if u have n e questions, u can PM me... ---------- if ur confused already, DO NOT READ THIS there is also another type of armor that costs 15K .... hence the name "15K armor" it has teh same Armor Level as Drok's or Kaineng City but its nicer looking, and is purely a "status symbol". |
