I have many questions about leveling up, since I just bought Factions 2 days ago. I know how forums work, so before I recklesly ask nubie questions here and get flamed, I want to ask if there is an area that covers the leveling process, and skill allocation to be specific. I already read the FAQ's, and it I still have doubts (just in case someone points me there).

If this post somehow throws off the delicate balance between productive posting and nubie post, my apologies in advance.

welcome

tips

do all of the secondary profession quests (first and second ) before picking what you want to end up with. that way you get the easy exp rewards for them.

at first gain a few levels by killing monsters as you can use the fixed big quest rewards later when the monsters are giving much less exp and you need much more experience to gain a level.

also do other quests but dont grag the reward til later as well

Just do every fedex quest you can find and you can get to lvl 20 in 6 hours tops.

I am having a very hard time understainding how to level up in PvP. I created an Assassin, and the skills I unlock cannot be used by said character. I have to create another character, and then allocate the skills previously unlocked by the first character. I mean, how many characters do I have create, then train in order to have enough faction points to unlock skills, before I have a decent character in game?

If I create a player in RPG (I'm assuming this is PvE) after I unlock skills, do I have to go trough the same process of re-creating characters in order to be able to used the unlocked skills?

I'm sorry if I sound clueless on the issue, but it's just what I am at this point in time.

Forums down as usual like you mention ..... sorry. Not sure why this never gets worked on here.

A: to level up and get through Factions with least amount of frustration FOLLOW THE PRIMARY QUESTS in your log.

ANET really dorked with the game so much so that you come up very frustrated if you don't simply needle along on the path they have carved out for you with green arrows and beacons on the map.

Following the primary quests you are lead straight through very simply, and it's just matter of time to finish game... not a ton of thinking involved for the kiddies running around in game. It used to be better when you didn't have to follow a bonehead path, but some were frustrated seeing runners in the game for some reason and they cried alot to get running sorta removed.

Best of luck and pm anytime if you need help.

i can answer part of that.

any skill, rune, weapon/item mod you unlock in PVE is also permanently unlocked for any PVP character you create.

if a skill is unlocked the PVE character will have it available to purchase from a skill trainer for gold and 1 skill point

a PVE character has to slog its own way with each one you create

what you really need to do is get yourself into a helpful guild with exp players..they will help you out with such questions

there is a thread where you can post that you are looking for a guild

just post..

new player looking for friendly/active guild willing to help out...join a pve guild for now as pvp wont be bothered with new players

v8nam ~ Guild Wars is a little different than the standard mmorpg. The level cap is 20 and not too difficult reach. Feel free to experiment a little and learn how things work. You can't drop your items, you won't loose xp by dying, so try some stuff out. If you don't like how your character is or you messed some stuff up then it's easy to remake your character and start again with little loss of time.

Also what Malice Black said is really good advice. Try and connect to some more experienced players and quest/mission or pvp with them. There is a little bit of an initial learning curve in Guild Wars, but soon it will make sense.
