Bags are somewhat... small...
Ok, I've had GW for about a week now and logged around a good 24 hours of playing so far. So now i'm finding that a backpack, a belt thing, and two spare bags are becoming smaller and smaller somehow, because i keep finding so much stuff before i can make my way back to a city. Now, i seem to remember finding a collector that had a "Scroll of Holding" or some BS like that, which was supposed to be used on a bag so that you could hold 10 items in it instead of 5. I made a mental note to find the items i needed and then come back, but i seem to have forgotten where said collector is. Anyone know?

Mostly ever merchant after Grendich Courthouse sells the Rune of Holding. Just go to Grendich Courthouse and get yourself two of them.

If you are playing Factions, the Quartermasters, at monastery, cavalon, and House, as well as the ones in Kaineng Center take Monastery Credits, Luxon Totems, Equipment requisitions, and Imperial Commendations respectively, as trade in for Runes of Holding as well.

i'm not playing factions, but thanks for answering anyway. So Remexx: Thanks for telling me that. Apparently leaving pre while i was still lvl 4 was a bad plan, so i havn't gotten far. hence my second character is already up to lvl 8, and still in pre. so, even though i'm not doing well, i've made my way to grenich already which makes things much better. so thanks!

I think you only have to get to Piken Square to get a Rune of Holding. Or you could just try to ask for one in Ascalon and maybe somebody who has Factions can get you one for less than 500g.

I'd like to know when the much talked about "storage solution" is going to be implemented! It was mentioned before Factions was released, and yet nothing else has been heard. I mean, just how difficult is it to allow people to place filled bags into the storage slots?
I need extra storage! How the hell are you susposed to store your armour, weapons and items for both campaigns' characters with a storage facility that was designed for the original four characters of Prophecies? |

Bags are big considering how small the storage is. Player can carry more stuff than a solid storage box.

Use the 2 rune of holding on each bag, use the storage, the inventory on your character, OR make a new chracter and mule on him. Mules as in another character just to put items on.

It does beg the question though. Why didn't you ask your friends who've been playing for ages first before asking here? |

And to answer your question, Azagoth, I did ask them, and not knowing due to not having needed to buy such a thing for about 5 months, they told me that the best place to ask would be guildwarsguru.com's forums. Hence my coming here with the question. Finally, what do you mean problem? I was simply stating a fact. The fact being that somehow the most pointless subjects seem to be the ones that start endless discussions. I'm not making a complaint, so pay attention before accusing someone of having no gratitude. Good? |

who gives an additional character slot for this untenable workaround of a well known design flaw that ANET refuses to fix?
a mule character is a no no! |

I only took one of my 3 Prophecies characters into Factions, and she now carries around a load of crap, most of it I don't even know what it is, but it's all quest items, taking up half of my inventory.

Most of the stuff you are finding is probably not worth keeping. You should just salvage it and carry the materials. You can then sell the material or keep it your choice. I recommend that you use a mule for material storage. If you keep buying armor this will save you a fortune in gold.

One thing that I haven't seen mentioned yet is that you could talk to a Xunlai Agent that you can find in all towns in post-searing. Then, give some gold and you have a permanent shared storage for all characters in your account. Of course, each character needs to spend the one-time fee to access the storage. This is a handy way to exchange items between different characters in the same account.
As a general rule, save collector items if you want so you have the possibility to exchange them for weapons and armor, even if it's for a different character. Most people just save collector items that can be exchanged for perfect weapons/armor in the late game. Sell all precious items to a merchant. Normal salvage or sell to merchant all normal items. If there is a mod/rune on a blue/purple/gold item that you want to keep but not on that equipment, use a expert/superior salvage kit to get a chance to reclaim the mod/rune. Sometimes you can use a expert/superior salvage kit to get a rare material but you should really only do that for things you know might give a chance. Most people will only trade for perfect or near perfect items/mods so if you have no use for them, just sell the item to a merchant. |
