inherited a guild - help - Guild Wars Forums

ok, i inherited a guild from my friend that stopped playing GW. he have like 15 members max i think, a hall and a cape. all of the members hadnt been on for months so i kicked them out.

after that i started recruiting. at first i would just single out people without guild
tags and whisper them. i pretty much got like 5-6 recruits an hour this way... however most of them were new players and not very active ones... after joining my guild they went a week without logging on.

anyways, signed up with a free webhost, installed some free forums, modified a skin for the forums.. got a ventrilo server, bought some shops for the guild hall.

i do all this hoping that it would make my guild more appealing.

mosty of my members are primarily pve and arnt interested in gvg.

on a continued quest to make my guild more appealing i went out and bought factions, then rushed a character to house zu heltzer in about a day. i declared my guild kurzick and begin cashing in my faction to increase my guilds.

ok, now my guild has to be right.. i got everything, except active players.

i try recruiting targeting pvpers and gvgers. practically no results.

i got a message from some 3 guild alliance leader with 360k faction... i talk to him for ahile telling him my guild situation etc. he invited me to his alliance.

finally it seems like my members are getting active. we are doing allianc battles with our new allies. having fun, meeting new people, etc.

then my alliance leader comes to me, and ask "how old are your members?"
iam like, "i dont know, i dont ask... thats none of my business"
hes like "they are all like 15-16.."
iam like "how would you know?"
hes said "cause i asked them"
and iam like "why does it matter?"

i try to argue the point that, if you had to ask him his age... then that proves that you couldnt figure it out on your own. and your age does not determine your maturity...

he says, "i dont want immature people in my guild... you know what.. screw you."
and he drops my from the alliance...

i was pissed and confused. apparently he talked to ONE new member of my guild, who turns out IS 16. and probally far more mature and intelligent then me. (iam 20)...

now iam alliance free... guild members are kinda getting unactive agian...

still not enought people on at one time to do a gvg.. not a single gvg done yet... and i wanted this to be a gvg/ab guild!

so, iam at a lost... i randomly spam towns for hours (today i spammed for about 6 hours and got abotu 5 new members, some are promising)

i need adivce, tips, secrets, spells, magic tricks ANYTHING! i am willing to give this guilds leadership over to someone if they are willing to take the reigns...

mostly i just want to create an awesome guild, and make my members happy.
apparently its more then just a cape, forums, guild hall, being nice and spamming relentlessly...

any advice would be greatly appreciated,

if i was you i would try and get into a new alliance, maybe that will make your members active and when u recruit, then u can say that you are part of a (# of guilds) alliance, and that will make you more appealing to new members, and possibly also make your current guildies play more because of your alliance. Where have you been recruiting, i find that the best places are usually like droks or some of the other big cities. We have room in our alliance, (if ur willing to become luxon) just pm me ingame for invite if u want. But other than that just keep doing what ur doing, hope it works
