Hey all just wondering, is it true that after completing the stars mission (kill the celestials) is that when you become ascended in factions? Thanks in advance.

Yes, the equivalent of Ascention (becoming Closer to the Stars) happens at the Nahpui Quarter Mission completion. You will then be in Senji's Corner, and upon reaching Zin Zu Korridor, can enter UW and FoW.

Edit: On further thought, the two are mosly compaired because ascending is moving closer to the stars, and for the fact that both are required to enter FoW and UW. However, Nahpui occurs early in the storyline, and is mandatory for all characters, because of the steps to prevent mission town running. So the two are not really equivalent, as Ascention is later in the prophecies story, and is optional in the sense that you can do the shiverpeaks and fire islands without ascending.
