Choosing a Secondary for Necro
Just looking for some suggestions. I want to make a PvE Necro that can act as a good damage dealer. I'm thinking N/E but do I have enough energy as a necro to really be an effective Ele? My idea is to build my own tanks with the death magic and use the ele spells for the real damage, but like I said I don't know if that will work in (virtual) reality. This will only be my second account so I don't have any experience with any other proffesions, which is why I'd like to get some people's opinions.

I think you are relying on your secondary too much for dmg. Necros do plenty of damage all on their own. If you go the death line, minions do plenty of damage. Blood spiking and curses are fine as well. I always used my secondary for complementary skills to support my build, not to be the main force.
If you are going MM think about monk secondary for area heals to your minions. In my experience though, most of the time the secondary while playing through (prophecies or factions?) prophecies wasn't import at all until I got to the point I could change secondaries and start capping elites. I almost always go with monk secondary on a new character just for the reusable res and the rest of my bar is all primary profession skills. |

There's an entire forum on Necromancer builds in the campfire.
The most popular Necromancer secondaries are: N/Mo - for a pure minion-master build, able to keep minions alive indefinitely N/Rt - for a minion-bomber build, to cause damage when minions are created and die N/Me - for a utility Necromancer build, focusing on hexes and blood magic. Very popular for a Spiteful Spirit build, since you can copy the spell with Arcane Echo. All of the other secondaries are utilized for a variety of unique and creative reasons as well (like /E you described above), so definitely don't limit yourself to the three I listed above. |

Well aside from monk, which I already have experience with from being W/Mo (im trying to experience new proffesions) what secondary would offer good support?
