Sheilds??? - Guild Wars Forums

Ok, sry if this is the wrong place, but a few days ago i bought a few sheilds, and was doing a run. And im getting hit by these azures using signet of judgement, im in no stance, they hit for 57 damage, i hit sprint, still, 57 damage, im using a 45 -2 stance sheild,

My QUESTION TO ANET IS, did u change the ways sheilds work? or did u just make it say what it had dont for the past year and a half?

From my knowledge, it now says what it always has done, would like to see anet answer this if possible, id email them but they would tell me to post on a forum so here it is.

the -2 damage only applies to 'physical damage' judge sig is magic damage thus receiving no -damage

So is there an explanation i didnt receive reduction a few days ago?

it seems u are saying that it always only reduced phys damage, or are u just not clear on my question?

pupu means to clarify that after the update from today shields only reduce physical damage.
since signet of judgement is not physical damage it is not anymore reduced.

yep thats what i meant, damage reduction used to apply to magic damage...but today its now gone, shame to the -5 shields :/

yea, but as far as i can tell, ive always only received reduction from physical, including on droks runs when i was running by imps, i never got damage reduction from anything but physical as far as i can tell

Holy damage was always armor ignoring. Signet of Judgement, Shield of Judgement, Balth. Aura, etc. all do the damage stated in the skill description.

Hockster hit it on the head, there are a number of armor ignoring skills out there such as this, blood spells and some earth spells. They always do the listed damage regardless of armor or level differences.
