There is not the best secondary profession for every primary profession. I think you have missed the point if you think otherwise.

R/Me
W/Me Mo/Me Rt/Me A/Me N/Me E/Me Me/Me...wait that doesnt work =( okay, i think you get my point. yes, i do love /Me, lol. but as the Zakarr said, there is no 'best' secondary. it depends on the situation. - where you are - what you are playing as - if you are farming - if you are running - etc, etc there, for my personal taste, is only one primary class that has a best secondary..being Mo/Me. /Me for monk is probably the best you can do, no matter if you smite, heal, prot, or whatever else. hell, its even good for farming. its personal preferance..you should browse guildwiki.org and check out some possible secondarys with your primary one, read what you can do with which, and then select what youd like best. (< whatever you do, dont start flaming me, its my own personal opinion..just that in advance =P) eventually, you WILL change your secondary, and that wont be once only. for everyone situation, there probably is something thats better than the other. if you cant decide..use your primary one only, simple. pick the second one just so you got it. |

It is up to you. You can play what everybody does, or play what you like most. What do you think?

/me is one of the worst. 2nd only to assassin. I would say that /mo is probley the best all around. I have changed my secondray on only 2 of my 5 characters. and that was to /mo. I had e/me went to e/mo and I had a r/n and went to r/mo. The other 3 are w/mo, n/mo and rit/r

Mesmer has good energy management. If I was a monk, I would pick that one.

I always change whenever I do something, Such as if i am pvping i will change to w/n if im farming griffons or running w/mo if im farming beach in fow w/me .. those are my three favorite for warrior but there is endless combinations, like as a w/E you could use earth protection spells to make yourself very tough armour wise. you cant go wrong with /mo but /me is always good too.

Honestly, it really depends.
/Me is amazing. It provides energy management, hex removal, and other useful supports. Even warriors benefit from Mesmer skills. Also, some mesmer skills are very useful without points in anything. Arcan Echo and Echo come to mind. /Mo is useful for the hard res, if nothing else. Useually abused and used badly, but when used well, it's nice : ) /W is...wait...I've never used it. First ting that comes to mind is Mo/W using Bonetti's for e-management. /Ne is good for degen, some support, and er... I used a wierd Mo/N combo before in the start of the game, then changed. I'm sure there's some sort of spike option between blood and smiting or something. /Ne works well on Rits for an obvious combo. I use /Ne useually on my mezzy. /Rt I haven't tried yet, I just use the primary. Seems like the loss of Spawning would hamper the charcter. Maybe good for some weapon buffs? Barrage-Splinter or something. /R is nice for Serpent's Quickness, Tiger's Fury, and whatnot. Useful for most situations. /A haven't touched primary or secondary yet, so I can't say. I know E/A was a popular combo in the beta. /E Useually used for glyphs. They're useful. Also, can provide decent support. Me/E Air Spike is popular. And now to adress the prompt. R/Mo for the res, R/E for damage W/E (shock warrior anyone?) Mo/Me (energy management ftw) Rt/N (damage) or Rt/Mo (attuned healer is nice) A/ ? N/Me (Degen Lord) ELE/Me (echo-nuke, anti-interrupt) Mes/N (punish) Mes/mo (hard res, you don't need a secondary to surge) Last edited by TGgold; Jul 09, 2006 at 11:51 PM // 23:51.. |

In order to have a BALANCED game, there should not be better profession combos. If there were better combos, everyone would play those and there would be no variety in the game. It would become dull and Anet would lose customers/gamers. Nobody wants to play a stale MMORPG, or CORPG for that matter. GW would not have survived if there were better combos. There ARE better combos for different areas in terms of PvE. And it also depends on the player. /Mo isn't necessary for Warriors, but it's what a majority of Warriors choose.

I tend to take the /Mo simply for the perma rez, which tends to be the only mo skill on my bar. but now /Rit offers that I've started taking that as a secondary.
Only my Warrior is /R secondary, as i didnt wanna be a wammo |

W/Mo Mo/Me Rt/Mo A/W? N/Me Ele/Me Me/N Just my opinions.. I feel that all of these secondaries seem to fair pretty well in PVP and PVE. They're not perfect, but not horrible either. It all depends on the situation and what kind of enemies you are fighting against. If you don't have the money to buy skills for every proffession I would suggest these because all-around they are pretty decent. |

I like to open up all secondaries for all of my primary professions. This allows the greatest versatility depending on the type of battle I plan to face.
