I beleive this topic is fake, can we get Gaile or someone from Anet to confirm weather or not Fame can be taken away.
Until then I dont believe it.

You are an idiot. Your fame can NOT be reduced for calling someone a noob. Just because you're to stupid to notice that you're rank 8 (which I doubt), instead of rank 9 doesn't mean that Guild Wars took it away. Nobody cares about your pathetic attempts to be recognized.

The same thing happened to a guildie of mine, except all he did was emote over Rnub's dead bodies (after spanking them with henchway), lost 40 fame the next day.

You get kicked off the server for a while. If the violation is particularly severe or ongoing, you get kicked for a good Looooong while.

If they were to implement new punishments for violators, they would notify people. Translation: do not spread wild stories without a shred of proof. If you actually were rank 9, and suddenly find yourself rank 8, I suggest you file a support ticket and start grinding.

Appearantly it needs to be said again if people in this hread are still saying rank+"noob"=loss of fame.

People, that is not the reason why you're losing fame. If it were, Anet would have told you.

this is just stupid... next thing Anet will delete my armor just because I have better armor then the other person and I called him noob. You are all noobs... Is anet going to delete my characters now?
