Expansion Question - Guild Wars Forums

I do not have factions and I don't plan on getting it but I was wondering if you would need it to play nightfall since I would like to get that one.

My guess would be no. From what I understand, each new chapter is being created so it can be treated as a stand-alone game or an expansion.

As things stand, you don't need Factions to play Nightfall. You don't even need Prophecies to play. Each game is a stand alone product. So in theory you should only have to buy the chapters you want to.
