Obsidian Armor
I have a question about obsidian armor...How much money does everyone generally spend on it and how long did it take to save up for it?
Is it also worth it? |

Depending on market fluxuations, a full set will run you in the neighborhood of 1 million gold.
How long did it take to save for it? Depends on how you "earn" money. Some earn it in 2 nights, others have waited a year and are still saving. Is it worth it? Only you can decide that for yourself. For me, I liked the look of it more than other armor for my characters so I purchased sets for them. |

Power Traders might be able to make it in one night - I bet one will pop along soon enough.
2 nights is distinctly possible, running missions and chauffeuring wealthy customers around Tyria. |

Figure 100 shards around 3-4k (also depending on time) Along with other materials. It might take awhile depending if your income is low or high. But its definately not that hard to get. Is it worth it? IMO most of the armors are not to good looking anymore. And it won't give you any extra protection over any other set of the same armor. The only reason I would have ever bought it was before factions when mixing armor types under the same skin wasn't possible. |

I used to be easily able to make 500k in a night when my academy was running, so yes I assure you it is possible. I have 5 sets of fissure, and a set of 15k kurzick
I'd personally say go with luxon or kurzick armor, as they're both really nice (better than obsidian imo depending on class) and they both run considerably less. |

took me about 1 month to save up for it completly.. i started a 55 monk just for uw ecto farming. I had originally planned to get it for my warrior.. but after farming uw for a total of like 4mill exp and 200 ecto (sold extra ecto to get shards)
I decided to let my tough lil 55 monk have it.. so now i rock 55 fissure armor yay... to answere your question though. it depends.. i was not around when aoe didnt make mobs run or when ecto fell like raindrops.. i had to earn my ecto by marchin for hours through the incredibly overfarmed uw at the time.. so it took me a lil while to get becuase i wasent around when it was easy |

2 Nights is plenty possible if you can get some really damn nice trading deals. To do it in 2 nights from a low amount of cash you really need to find people oblivious of the economy and get a cheap thing to sell for 10X the price. Then you can buy and sell much easier. And yes its around 1.1.-1.3 mil, more if your getting warrior.

Full Set: As of now, I believe it will run you ~1.3 mil
Time Taken to collect it all: depends on how many ettins you kill XD Worth It?: YES.... actually it depends on the class. For necs yes, Mesmers yes, warriors yes (15k kurzick=cheap substitue for the cash-strapped amoung us), rangers perhaps, monk no (it looks too similar to the factions armor. And I dont' recall any pyramids in FoW :P), assassin no, ele yes, ritualist yes. Of course, it all depends on your personal preference. |

Is it worth it. I don't know. I have it. Took me about six months to get it, but that was because I didnt' focus on it. When I had free time, I farmed the ectos. I wear it proudly. There is something to be said for the cat that has FOW armor, a gladiator title, and flosses rank emotes. Respect.

I prefer the look of 15k armors to FoW myself, but that's not what FoW is about to the people who get it legitimately. It's friggin' hard to get, and it's something you can feel very proud of when you finally do get it. If you just want to look pretty, take some 15k, or even certain sets of 1.5k. If you want a challenge, and to be able to fell like you've conquered the PvE portion of the game, FoW is the way to go.

For all the money i've put into 15k sets for my characters, I could have had a set of FoW + some. Personally I think the warriors Obsidian looks like crud. I'll take 15k Kurzicks any day.

I haven't bought any of my 33 ecto or 18 shards. I plan on spending 60k for my Obsidian Armor.

I dont have m set(s) yet. I started from scratch yesterday currently have 150k and 1 ecto. And about 200k+ worth of items.
People say FoW armor is ugly..blah blah blah....maybe it is, but those of us that have it, accomplished a goal. everyone sets goals, ours is to get this armor. /rant :P |
