okay, this is really pissing me off, but here goes:

i used my old factions temporary accoun to test out the new professions (i used all 6 of my slots). so i create a character with a name, lets call it X. i create the char. and play around with it for a while than log off. i log onto my main account and buy a character slot from the store. i wanted to use X for my new character, so i log out and get onto the temp. account. i delete the character and log onto my main account. than when i try to name it X, it says its already taken (mind, its about 20 seconds after i deleted the characer). so i add the name to my friends list, and it adds it, even though i deleted X from the temp account. i think maybe somebody stole my name really quick, but to check i log back onto the temp account and create a character with name X and it works. what-the-hell.

EDIT: wow, this is getting really weird. i decided to test some stuff out, and as it turns out, any character i make in the temporary account, than delete, can still be added to the friends list. but now, 3 seconds after logging onto the temp. i pulled up the friends list and ALL of my friends from my main list were listed as being online. i have no idea how they got there. same thing happened when i added friends to the temp. account, they showed up as being online for my main account.

Character names are reserved for the account they were deleted from for a certain period of time. That way if you want to reroll with the same name, you can get it back before somebody else takes it.

Wait a bit before creating the new character with that old name...

exactly, the names basically belong to that account for a set amount of time (I think 3 hours, could be wrong) so no other account can use them. That is why you can add the name to your friend list, because the name is on that account even though there isn't an actual character with that name.

The friends list showing as all online is a bug from switching between two accounts. If you log off then log back into the same account, it will reset.
