Can you lose fame for doing /rank emote after a win?
A rumor I heard from several different people saying that if you take a screenshot of something showing their rank emote after a win, you can report it to Anet and they will lose fame for it. I don't understand why they would do htis but apparently it's offensive. I don't believe it but does anyone have any proof one way or another?

No, but it does not emit the best sportsmanship.

No, ANET will not do anything. It's just what you called it; a rumor.

i agree, slightly unsporting however if you face a difficult team and they slag you off repeatedly even when they've lost, ranking them is a step towards keeping them quiet, I've seen plenty of nasty people in HA, i remember on the preview weekend of Nightfall running Dervish/Smites in HA and being called lame repeatedly by...none other than IWAY. People often react badly to being steamrolled. Ranking someone for no reason is unsporting yes, but if you rank someone for being a Jack*ss then i can't see anything wrong with it.
Anet most certainly do not do anything to your fame, its not up to them to screw with all your hard work earning fame. |

It was put up as a suggestion here and in other forums, but it wasn't implemented.

There is from time to time a person that CLAIMS it happened to them (never with any screenshots or anything) - but nothing more.
And it isn't offensive in the least...The Ranking System is there for that very reason. If anything is offensive about it, it is the system itself - a System that promotes "farming fame" and discrimination over actual skill. |

Someone posted on this board claiming he lost fame for using the emote at the end of a battle AND calling his fallen opponents noobs.
(My guess is he lost the fame for the "noob" insult, not the emote. The fool.) |

While The Pointless does remember the topic correctly, I think he forgot to mention the part where someone else posted a link to the main GW site where it clearly spelled out the possible punishments for anything and everything in the game, and no where did it say "Reduction in Fame/Rank".
On the other hand, I personally wouldn't care if you lost fame or rank for acting like a jerk. |

No, I didn't remember that happening, probably because when I returned the next day, the topic sunk to the dreaded Page 2
