Not many people know this, but there is a Binded Key to pick up the nearest item to you thats on the ground. You don't even have to press spacebar...just that button. Its LOADS faster than trying to mouse to the item and picking it up.

Back on topic, No rule issue here. When he dropped the item, it stopped belonging to him. Otherwise, Anet would have coded the ownership to remain. So you were intending to give it back, but when he turned into a demanding swearing jerk you had second thoughts. Understandable, but perhaps you can be the bigger person and carry thru with your first plan. |

There are no rules against it but one time this happened to me (I was player B) and he was bitching the whole time so I finally gave it back. (Was a bow worth about 50-75k at the time)

Have Player B take a screenshot of the harrassment, then go to support.plaync.com and write up a support ticket explaining the harrassment, and add the screenshot as proof. That will get someone from Anet on the case. Whether they actually do anything to stop it is another matter.
As far as the show-off dropping, I've grabbed someone's drops before, since he was bragging about his stacks of ecto. After the 10th drop of a stack of 250 ecto, I snagged one before he picked it back up. I ended up holding it hostage to get him to behave for the rest of the run. He did get it back once we were finished. I may be a jerk sometimes, but I ain't cruel. |

What Player A is saying is that Player B will get banned for picking them up
Someone quoted Player B this: Rule # 1 of Code of Conduct: "While playing Guild Wars, you must respect the rights of others and their rights to play and enjoy the game. To this end, you may not defraud, harass, threaten, or cause distress and/or unwanted attention to other players." But according to the definition of Defraud Player B has not done any defrauding. Definition: To take something from by fraud; swindle |

That player A needs to be taught the lesson that you dont play basketball with your items by dribbling them around...second, finders, keepers...possession is 9/10 of the law!!! I applaude player B for the willingness to return the item, but in the face of aggression or lewdness...I think not!!! To bad Player A....better luck next time!!!

Why bother contacting ANet support about it? We aren't incorrect, there is no rule against it. Read them yourself if you don't believe it, Player A can't do anything because he chose to drop the items, therefore he forfeited all ownership over the items to whoever picked them up next, Player B in this case.
I personally would have never thought of returning the said items. Why? Because I'm a jerk? Hardly, because Player A doesn't deserve the items if he was dropping them, for whatever reason he was dropping them, to show off in this case apparently. |

There are no rules against stupidity in GW. If Player A drops his stuff on the ground, he should be smart enough to know that when he does, he exposes himself to having it taken from him. And if Player A is doing it just to show off, then Player A deserves what he gets.
If Player A leaves a drop on the ground, then he/she should be aware that when it becomes "fair-game" he risks the possibility of someone else picking it up. (IN CASE OF PLAYER A'S DEATH, OTHER PARTY MEMBERS SHOULD RESPECT PLAYER A'S DROPS) In the mean-time, Player B should make use of his/her ignore list! |
