A quick question or two regarding Hex duration display
Hey folks, I've been wondering whether the Hex icon targets receive when tagged with an Illusion Magic hex display the base time for the hex, or the actual time it will last. Sorry, that's a bit mangled.
eg, I have a theoretical 16 Illusion and 15 Inspiration, so I cast Mantra od Persistance (100% extended duration @ 15 insp) then Conjure Nightmare (15 sec duration @ 16 Illusion). My target gets the Hex Icon on his screen, but does it say 'For 15 secs....' which is strictly incorrect, or 'For 30 secs....' which is the actual effect? Just curious. Additionally, are conditions inflicted by Hexes affected by mods on a player's weapons? If I shatter a Phantom Pain while wielding a Cruel Sword, doe the 33% Deep wound bonus apply, or use Virulence on someone wielding a Poisoner's Bow? Just theoretical (I've never done these things) but it's a game mechanic I'm completely unsure of. Thanks! |

On the weapon front, I presume that the deep wound only lasts longer if the weapon actually caused the deep wound, ie. "I am using Eviscerate!".
On the hex front, the numbers shown on your screen are the base numbers, with the added bonus from persistence unshown. The same goes for enchantments + 20%longer enchantment weapon. Eg. I use Conjure Phantasm (which lasts for 13 seconds). The foe sees an icon which says 13 seconds. I use the same Conjure Phantasm (but this time with Persistence) which makes it last for 16 seconds. The foe sees an icon which says 13 seconds. |

No, I am pretty sure the weapon bonus applies regardless of how the condition is applied. So, if you were wielding a Cruel Sowrd, and shatter PP, it applies.
However, if the target is wielding a Poisoner's Bow and you use Virulence on them, it doesn't count, because you weren't holding the bow. The exact same thing is true of Stonefist Gauntlets and Bloodstained Boots. You just have to have the item/armor equipped. |

Sorry, i worded the second example poorly, I meant use Virulence on someone WHILE wielding a poisoner's bow, just re-read my post and see that was very unclear. Thanks for your answers - seems there's some disagreement!
I'll get a guildy and we'll do some tests. |

If you are holding a weapon that lengthens a condition, when you DIRECTLY invoke that contition, it is lengthen. I don't think that having a weapon that lengthens Deep Wound does anything to the Deep Wound from Phantom Pain.
The conditions from Virulence CAN be lenthened by wielding a weapon that lenthens them. |

Poison, weakness, and disease.
The numbers you see on the effect list are base numbers. (Conditions don't even have a timer.) |

Virulence cannot be lengthened. It is based on the spells level, not weapon upgrades. You did not CAUSE those conditions, you merely sent them using magic. Virulence will end at the time it is suppose to.
