Districts...
I was just wondering a few things about what 'districts' really are. now I don't expect anyone to have the answer, but maybe, just maybe someone does, so here goes:
1. Is it safe to assume that a district is technically just an instance of a service running a particular portion of the game? Having watched my TCP/IP connections in TCPView, it seems that when I change districts (or zones), that game client makes a new IP connection... 2. What is the theoretical limit of players/district? 3. Do international districts have a higher player/distrct limitation? Or is it the same across the board? 4. And finally, a seemingly off topic one: Which ToA district do you hang out in most often? For me, its ToA DN2 |

1) Correct. Each district is controlled by a different individual server machine in the data center.
2) Roughly 150 (Jeff Strain said so in the Gaming Steve interview) 3) I don't think so. 4) I don't "hang out" anywhere. Due to real life my GW gaming time is very limited, so I gotta use it well.
