Ritualist Restoration wands; wtf...?
Why in gods name, are all the restoration wands in the game req. something else? The green's I've encountered are the same. Even the the end-game green wand is req. spawning, while all the others are their proper requirement. What is that all about? Is this a bug? Or have people found restoration req. restoration wands.
If this is not a bug, then I truly can't see the reasoning behind it. If it was a communing thing and all the wands were spawning req., then I might understand, as spirit users generally use spawning to make them more effective. There are only 2 spirits in the restoration line. The death of one of them actually being the desired effect. Any thought's on this? I can't have been the only Ritualist user to have noticed this seemingly large over-sight. Unless of course I don't know what I'm talking about, and that there's a large stock-pile of them buried in the Jade sea or something . |

It is the same with monk wands and staffs ( there is no req healing wands or staves ) and has been that way since GW's inception.
Personal opinion is that it is due to the fact that the skills are healing based ( both restoration and healing) and are therefore not damage causing. IE it is impossible to have a wand that requires healing or restoration because those attributes are incapable of causing damage to the enemy. This is just personal conjecture, as I had to find a reason for my monk having to use divine favor req wands for the past year |

Well it would help if Spawning was much use outside of making spirits live longer or quickening their demise. Most of the skills in the line are essentially for spirit work.
Ritualist's are fundamentally different from Monks. In that (bizarrely) you don't need your primary attribute to make good use of them. Similar to warriors in fact. However, would you not complain if all warrior shields we're Strength based? Prot monk, healing monk, Smiting monk... Divine favour is helpful whatever line you decide to run. There are spells/skills there that help you out whatever you decide to run. Spawning can't really say the same. If your not running a communing rit, your benefit from spawning is almost nil. Most of the skills revolve around having spirits around. Or killing them. Feast of Souls for example, would rock if I had more than two spirits that didn't take forever to recharge. That's fine though I don't mind not having much use for spawning. It just seems that, in terms of weapons, the Restoration rit is the bastard child of the Ritualist family. The recent buff's are cool though. |

I noticed the same thing...
I actually made a forum about that too... and Ibbo, Spawning and Divine favor ARE the primaries of these profesions... it really sucks, I have atribi 26 restoration, but not 8-9 in spawning, it's a complete waste. I hope they make different weapons with restoration req soon. |

There are restoration requirement weapons, staves I believe, in game. I asked this question a while back in the Ritualist Forum here and was told they do exist but are primarily found in the two elite missions only. The Deep and Urgoz's Warren

There ARE Restoration Req Wands and Staves though, they only drop from "can be any attribute req" type staves, like Raven Staves.
They are rarer and perfect ones are highly Sought after and collectable. |

Sometimes you just hafta look around a bit. But you are right on the money...it is annoying! Necro collector items in Drok's used to be a similar annoyance...they gave a 20/20 mod for soul reaping skills, but, at the time, soul reaping skills had been eliminated from the game pre-beta. Now there are a couple soul reaping skills again so they are not as useless.
Just wish I could find a good bow with a Wilderness Survival or Expertise req...hmmmm....guess I'll keep lookin' P.S. Caleb the Pontiff, PLEASE change your avatar to something less disturbing, like maybe Dick Cheney eating live kittens...gawd that thing gives me the creeps (If it's a portrait of you, I apologize for my lack of sensitivity)...*shudders* Last edited by TwinRaven; Oct 11, 2006 at 05:05 PM // 17:05.. |
