Go to your GW Icon on your desktop and add -image to the command line. It would download and decompress all GW files, but that means downloading and decompressing all of Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall. You'd want to do that at night because it'd take you quite awhile.
I would not suggest doing this, if you use a dial-up connection, because the complete GW.dat file is supposed to be nearly 3 gig. |

To bring some closure to this question, usually the first area you log into will take 30 minutes to an hour or more depending on your connection speed. Each area after that will take anywhere from 2-10 minutes for the first time you enter each. The more areas you enter the fewer new models/textures/etc will need to be downloaded, and the faster entry times will be.
If you are strictly playing in Tyria, I would NOT recommend the -image method, as it will waste a large amount of your time. Also of note is the fact that your game will automatically download content it hasn't yet gotten while you play. This will obtain factions and nightfall content as well, for future use, but will not interfere with your gameplay. Just remember that when you buy the game off the shelf all you're really paying your money for is the access code, as all client files can all be downloaded regardless of which campaigns you own. You don't even have to run the installer CD's for those campaigns when you purchase them. |
