i don't have nightfall yet, but while farming in factions i got this blue rune of vitae, which had a relatively high value. can somebody tell me what this is, and how does it work? (stacking etc.)

Rune of Vitae works like any other rune. Their effect will stack with each other and Vigor runes. All other rules of rune application apply.
