Can someone explain 55hp monks pls?
Hi, I have a lvl20 monk set as a healer. I'm good at this but keep seeing people using the 55 build. What I want to know is ...
1. What is this build used for 2. Where do you use it? 3. What do I need to set the build? 4. Is it worth doing? I know it's a lot, but GuildWiki is being a bitch atm so I can't get any info from there. Thanks in advance. |

1) build is used for farming, nothing much else.
2) UW, trolls outside droks, minotaurs.. 3) Check out the monk build forums, use search, its probably there. 4) Depends, whatever floats your boat. 5) You're prob gonna ask it, it's gonna cost you some plat, need 5 monk sup runes, -50 cesta (cities of ascalon quest reward). |

The build relies upon the skill protective spirit. You reduce your health to 55 using 5 superior runes and the -50 cesta, it doesnt require max armor, any level armor can be taken. This mean ths most damge you can take is 5 from one attack. The basis for the rest of the build is balthazars spirit and essence bond for energy, mending and healing breeze for health regeneration. The other 3 skills are up to you. Any monk secondary can run this.
The 55 monk was primarily used to farm the underworld, trolls outside of droknars forge and outside elona reach. This has been pretty much stopped witht the new nightfall AI update as foes will now retreat if taking too much damage. Any enchantment removal and life stealing skills render this build useless. The build is useless for healing any1 else other than yourself, dont use it in general PvE play when in a team. Is it worth doing? Im not sure, used to be before the AI update, since then i havent tried it, too busy with Nightfall and PvP. |

Theres an entire subforum dedicted to farming.
If you can't find the builds there then i dunno. PS.. the 25/10 update has changed AI and has made it pretty hard to go 55'ing not impossible but hard. |

55ing is used as a tank. they can take on most any melee enemies by, as said earlier, reducing the damage to 5 per hit. when farming you would need damage spells along witht he required ones. but as a tank one would use spellbreaker to guard against any strip enchanments. thats just my 2 cents info.

Just did the seaboard mission with a 55 in our team (was practice, since he was not lvl20 yet). Also had a team finish the Dunes of Despair mission with the 55 and ghost hero as only survivors. 55 kept the ghost alive. Too bad we died on the bonus attempt and did not really need the mission. But for general PvE missions the build is worthless, unless you build your entire team around the 55. |
