Missions, you should start doing missions. If you go out the northern door in Ascalon you'll find the first mission, then go from there.

Buy Nightfall.. get Heroes.. then u wouldn't have to worry about getting bored with ur character because ur Heroes will own everything without u have to use a melee skill or shoot an arrow or confuse urself with mesmer skills.

In my opinion, you should stick with the Ele. They are versatile (Solo farming, solo boss farming, support for teams or high damage, healers when necessary, and the best tank in the game).
Like others here have said, you should get a little further in before you make a decision. If you're still bored, it may be time to move on to a different game. KANE |

A mesmer is not too advanced. My first character was a mesmer. The only thing that's difficult about playing a mesmer is learning that a mesmer does not hurt the enemies - he manipulates the enemies into hurting themselves. Once you learn that lesson, a mesmer suddenly becomes a much easier profession to play with.
Playing a mesmer can be an excellent way to learn more about the game too. As a mesmer needs to learn how an enemy acts in combat in order to be effective, it indirectly teaches you how every profession works and where their strengths and weaknesses lie. And as a final note about mesmers, their primary attribute allows them to cast any spell at an accelerated rate; not just their own mesmer spells. The only professions that don't utilise spells are warriors, rangers and paragons, so combining any other profession with a Mesmer primary can take advantage of the faster spellcasting rate, and give you something else to fall back on if you feel like taking a break from messing with the minds of the enemy. So give a mesmer a try sometime. You might enjoy it a lot! Also, about monks... There's more to monks than healing and protection. Smiting can be a lot of fun too - not to mention that as you have the best healing abilities in the game on your side, it's much easier to keep yourself alive while you drop divine wrath on enemies. It's something you might want to try out sometime to see how you like it |

I agree mesmer is awesome and actually ez. With conjure/clumsiness alone it's a blast but when u add ineptitude later ur a machine, plus lotsa interrupts and self healing. Now domination mesmer is for smart people and my brain is too small for that. But I agree lvl up to 20 on one character and check out the builds section and cap some cool elites b4 u decide if it's good or bad.

To the OP: I'm curious, if you got bored with every class, what exactly did you get addicted to? I encourage you to do what most have said here, pick one and play it through. A lot of the quests/missions are hard at first, especially those before and after Althea's ashes. That area is crazy mad with charr. Get help with those, from guildies or friends. Nothing can slice through the charr like a level 20 anything. My first character was an ele, because like you, I didn't want the melee and up close fighting. Ele's are probably the greatest damage dealers, so they are way fun to play. One hint tho..the only thing firestorm is good for is scattering the foes. So if they are pounding on you, use that. Otherwise, don't. My second was a ranger, because I like the idea of having a pet. There are so many good ranger skills, including skills for your pet. |

Well..you could always buy Factions and play as an Assassin. Then you could slice & dice, spin around and do backflips, throw daggers, knockdown and degen your foes, Shadow Step (teleporting) and the whole works. Throw a Warrior profession as your secondary and throw some armor buffs on ya, and you are set to go. Oh yeah...and you'd look really COOL.

So basically... Answering some questions (I have the most fun with the characters I did not like in the beginning)
e-bored me, and I died too often -.- Have some of the most powerful skills in the game. Not nicked named the NUKER for no reason. Also defensive play is hard thing to get a handle on. At least at first. Learn about kiting. It is ok to run away from attackers. Or add a secondary with defensive skills example Ranger r-shot too slow, and each shot was weak Lay spirits and use preparations (Apply Poison-is your friend in the beginning) Also if you do choose Apply poison instead of concentrating on one target till it is dead. Attack them all! Target shoot, new target shoot, new target shoot ETC.. Poison degeneration is a killer in the beginning. You can single handily take a large portion of the enemies health. w-didn't like the melee, but I liked the armor One of the best running/farming classes Also always wanted in a group (Elites really make the class fun later on.) Gotta love Deep wounds with axes, Knock downs with hammers, and Bleeding with swords. n-bored me too... Although this seems to steam roll through the game as a minion master it can become boring just raising minions. It becomes more fun with curses or even Blood skills. mo- healing isn't my thing I am with you healing is not my thing. I am not quick enough. But this is the rock of a party with out it you will die. Kudos to you Monks out there me-too advanced for me I always thought it was too advanced to. I tried 3 mesmers and ended up deleting them all. I am on my fourth one now, and my little jack of all trades is one of my favorites. Mesmer skills are very powerful from copying skills so you can use them over and over to shutting down casters and turning warriors into damage dealers to themselves. They are the king in PVP, but they often get overlooked in PVE. Personally I have made some nasty builds that are devastating in PVE. They synergy of the fast casting and Elementalist skills should not be overlooked. Although you do not have the following classes I thought I would give my thoughts on the rest of the classes Ritualist- Totally new way to play Support Support Support. Though you can also be a good damager with Channeling. Assassin- Seems to take the grunt of PVE hate. But my little ???survivor title??? Sin is a blast. The new skill buffs have really helped out the sin. For those who hate them. Have you even tried them? Paragon- I see a little bit of Sin hate starting on this one. Common mistake is to go Commando with your build. You are a general Stay back and act like one. Turn your party into an army Shouts a chants are good fun. Dervish- The devastating Scythe. Enchantments Enchantments enchantments (Its all about application and removal) Have fun playing and remember no choice is wrong it is all about Balance |

If you use Aura of Restoration all the tim e when you fight with an Ele, then it gets real easy. I ploughed through Pre-searing, got to post-searing by level 4, started racking up 60% DPs, kept on returning to town, got firestorm, and then kicked them big fat bums .
Oh, firestorm isn't bad, actually. I use Aura of Restoration, aggro every Grawl i can find, use firestorm, then spam flare. Cheap kills! <(^_^)> BTW, this is my first post!!! Yay! |

hey u topic starter, im new like you and i have a post here too but u have more succes, even if this thread really dont have some usefull advices. If u want to not be bored learn the game asking serious questions (see my thread), because if u are strong u ill be not bored. Power is light! u dont know what a lvl 20 char is capable to do (me either lol)
ok i didn read all things here, anyway im a "Nightfall guy" and i saw here some things about Factions... there are no Henchmens or Heroes to help? uh, then i understand why u are bored, or, exactly, defeated OT: hm my protection blocked like 10 bad cookies or little spywares here, little more than other sites, anyway why we need these? hm ok isnt here the place to ask that but ill ask somewhere, is very frustrated to wait minutes this slow load and to clear every day spywares...
