Do you think I could trade these swords?
I currently have a Furious Zodiac Sword of Fortitude on my Warrior, with the following stats (it's gold by the way):
Damage 15-22 (Req 9) Damage +20% (while Hexed) Double adrenaline on hit (Chance 10%) Health +29 Do you guys think I would be able to trade it with someone for a Gothic Sword that's 15-22, 15^50 and req 9? I don't care which color it is or what mods are on it. The Zodiac's nice and all, but I really like the Gothic Sword skin since it would match with my armor (15k Kurzick) and shield (Serrated Shield). |

You could probably get a req9 gothic sword if you found someone interested; but I'm not sure about 15^50

sadly enuff i highly doubt it people are short sighted when it comes to damage mods everyone wants a 15^50 when imo there are clearly better damage mods (15% -5 en)

Sorry, but I don't consider -5 energy to be "better".

even with a shock axe war -5 is terrible you want to get stuck in frenzy because your energy pool is too low? If your looking trying to save money buy a higher req, req 12 15^50 gothic swords sell pretty cheap even a req 10 or 11 might sell for 30-50k just try to shop around a bit. |

How about you keep it on topic?
Someone swapping a R9 15^50 gothic for yours? no chance in hell, the value of yours is far lower then the 15^50 gothic..value means everything.

No of course not, because everything good in this game is worth 100K+50e... and if you have anything else but that, you're stuck with crap.

That innate +20% while hexed is going to put a serious dent on your Zodiac's attractibility. It's something you have absolutely no control over - at least with 15% vs. hexed foes, it is possible (whether wise or not, I won't comment) to put a cover hex such as parasitic bond to use that bonus.
I would recommend trying to trade for a high-req Gothic, especially if you want the coveted 15^50 mod. Even if it's req 13, any decent warrior running a swordsmanship build will easily meet that requirement. (And if you aren't running a swordsmanship build, then you wouldn't be worrying about your sword damage anyways.) |

You'd need to find a collector for the Zodiac with that damage mod. Put it in the Sell section and hope for the best. It is a nice skin with a semi-rare perfect mod.

Fine, since my request is so unreasonable to the free market of Guild Wars, what about just any Gothic Sword then? I still don't care what color it is or what modifiers it has. I'll find those on my own.
And yes I am rather peeved about GW's economy, as I am constantly seeing other players get highly sought after items with good re-saleability while I continue to get useless crap that's nothing more than merchant fodder. I get the impression my characters are nothing but running jokes, even though I play just as well as anyone else. I apologize if I have stepped on any toes, but you might feel the same after watching every other person in your FoW group get 2-3 Obsidian Shards each while your inventory fills up with nothing but Gloom Seeds and Dark Remains. |

Drop rates are random, nothing wrong with that..... You can buy highly desirable items instead of finding them.... Highly desirable items are usually rare, rare items are few in number therefore they dont drop tons. I have never found an item worth more than 30k (afaik) yet at one point I had one of the most impressive item collections in the game. You could attempt to make gold as many people who want nice items do. Collectors and green items are as good as golds. Golds arnt compulsory to perform well. |

I never said golds were compulsory. I said that I don't care what rarity color my weapons are, so there's no need to call me stupid (that is if you are calling me stupid, or the amount of trivial damage stupid).
And the reply to just buy said items isn't an option for me since I don't have a lot of gold and rarely farm. I'm not rich, so I don't buy vanity items or bling. I just want a sword, in my skin of choice, that's fairly decent in stats. Blue, purple or gold, X^50-something... makes no matter to me, only the req and the skin. Because am I right in thinking that lower req item + higher attribute rank = more damage, correct? |

I never called you stupid.... I fail to see how it is possible to come to that conclusion when the sentence in question was about the damage difference between 15>50 and 14>50
ill maybe rephrase the sentence. And the difference in damage between 14>50 and 15>50 is like .20 or something tiny. low reqs + high att points dont lead to more damage. 12 in sword does max damage, it doesnt matter if you are using r7 sword or r12 sword damage will be same. |

Yupper. like if your sword att is 16, you'll do *exactly* the same damage with an r8 max sword vs an r13 max sword.
