Help with soloing Smites the UW (W/RT)
I've been soloing the UW for 2 weeks now, and while I've pretty much got it down, there's still one bit that really annoys me. When you clear the grasps and have to run to the Smites. However, even if you've got it right, the Aatxes can still pound you. You run past them and BAM! they hammer you even though you're way past them and still running.
Is there a way to do this so you can near emilinate it? I've heard it's a bug in the UW. When you've spent 1k to get in and then took the time to kill the Grasps only to be killed by a bug gets really annoying. Any pointers are appreciated. Thanks. |

It's mere lag. My best recommendation is to avoid corners as best you can--they're the primary cause.
Also, be sure you're Sprinting, as it makes it much easier. |

This should probly go somewhere in the Farming Forum Section...
Here is a link to the W/RT UW Farming thread: http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...php?t=10102712 As far as the Aatxes killing you, that is caused by lag. This problem is often referred to as "rubberbanding", meaning you may be clear across the map, but you are still taking damage as if near monsters. In this case, the Aatxes have body blocked you and trapped you at some point and your game client has not properly updated with this data, so it appears as if you are still running, when in actuality you are trapped. If you find that happening, hit "X" and then start running again. This sometimes will help throw you back to where you actually are and might give u the seconds you need to survive. As far as completely avoiding this, just be a little more careful when running past the Aatxes. I often steer a good distance to the side of them to completely avoid rubberbanding... Hope that helps, its not a problem with any real tangeable fix, but is easy enough to prevent! GL!! cheers. |

That does happen to me every once in a while, usually right before you run into that last room with the stairs.
One of the skills I bring for this run is Deadly Riposte, hit it just as I'm beginning to sprint. If a bull does try to tag you, you block it totally, and once he starts bleeding he doesn't seem to try to hit you again. It gives you a little more cushion for error and since you only need about 5 skills to make the run you're not really hurting for space on your skill bar. |

Na, it's not lag. My pings are fine and the little light doodar is green. I've checked all this before posting here. I'm sure it's problem with the UW. I'll take a look in the posted thread. Thanks for the help though.

It's rubber-banding, caused by synchronization issues between server and client.
Every time you play online your actions are delayed. This delay (latency, or more commonly called lag) is what causes this. What happens is that client thinks it passed an obstacle, but server says client got stuck. Unfortunately, server doesn't let client know that soon enough. All actions are authoritative from server perspective, so if client is out of sync, tough luck. |
