Default Did PC Gamer GW2 article mention different melee weapon attack rates?

I was just curious as I won't have the PCG article for another week or 2, for those that do have it:

Is there any mention of different attack rates or ranges for melee weapons of the same class? For example, IIRC in Diablo 2, polearms, halbergs, and all those things had different "reach" depending on the weapon, and bows in GW1 have both different ranges and rates of fire, but a GW1 short sword has just as much reach as a long sword. Just curious if anything's been said on that.

Minor specifics like attack speed are constantly changed during the final stages or "polish period" of a game. In other words, Anet doesnt even know this and the attack speeds will probobly be adjusted during the beta.

every weapon has different attack rates (including the bows). In GW2 they might just change some of them or they might put out new skills. best idea is to wait and see.

I'm talking about weapons of the same class (bows excluded because they already have different rates/ranges), the easiest example being short swords and long swords. I'm not expecting the exact same weapons or system for that matter in GW2, I'm just curious if the article mentioned considering making weapon types more unique (in that a larger sword would swing slower but do more damage and/or have greater reach, for example), or other things along those lines.

Fair enough. I was just wondering if the article mentioned anything about that.

/sigh

@OP - your best bet is to wait until the magazine is available (April 3rd USA) to the general public. You are more likely to get a yes or no answer then.

At the moment, very few subscribers (who are also members of this site) have received their issue.

I hope not. I really appreciate the simplicity and ease of keeping every weapon class uniform in its function, minus bows of course. And even with those, I wouldn't care if there was only one version. Maybe a flatbow since it seems to be the most middle-of-the-road variant.

Let the economy remain as it is. People with money can spend it on nice-looking skins, while those without can still function equally well with collector/crafter items. Making changes to attack rate and range will only force people to carry more weapons on switch.

I read the article, doesn't touch on anything close to that. They aren't going to discuss something that specific and insignificant two years before the game is released.
