Runes?
I am new to this game.
Can anyone help me with this. Qs 1)Why I couldn't use 2 superior vigor rune to increase my health to 100 Is it u could only use 1 type/specific of rune in yr build. That means once I use a superior vigor rune, the minor or major or superior vigor runes have no effect? Qs 2)Lets say I use a major swordmanship rune, so if I cannot use anymore swordsmanship rune, does my helmet +1(swordmanship) increase the attribute. Qs1: You are correct, only one Vigor Rune takes effect. So a Superior + a Major will only give you the +hp form the Superior.
Qs2: Same goes for Swordsmanship. A Superior + a Major will only give you the +3 from the Superior. HOWEVER, the drawbacks of the runes, the -75 and -35 health will both take effect. When you wear a + Swordmasnhip helmet, the +1 Swordsmanship will add up to the +3 from your Superior Swordsmanship Rune. Giving you a +4 in Swordsmanship When hovering your mousepointer over the runes, they will tell you if they are 'stackable' or not. Some more information can be found at the wiki: http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Rune Hope this helps, Gr. Arduinna |

Ok that means if I use 2 minor rune of swordmanship, it will only take effect from 1 only.So its not +2 but +1.
Or it will take effect from both until a max of +3 Last edited by Tan Eng Yeow; Apr 16, 2007 at 01:13 PM // 13:13.. |

In a nutshell, runes will stack on top of armor bonuses (+1 Helms), but not each other. |

one thing to note, while the positive aspect of multiple runes of the same basic type (vigor, fire attunement, etc) will not stack, the negatives will, so if you have 2 superior fire runes, you'll only get +3 to your fire attribute from them, but you will get the full -150 hp that having 2 superiors would give.

If its your health you want to get higher , you could consider using vitae runes they only give +10 per rune but it helps.(NOTE:those do stack with each other as you can see it doesn't not say non stackable)

so I'm lost thought the non stacking ment that you couldn't put it on the same item IE one rune for one pice of armor. So if I put superior vigor on my helm and superior vigor on my chest only one superior vigor will work? The other will just be there and not do anything? Just asking kinda confused I have 560 health and thats with 3 minor vigors.

No. If you have 3 minor vigors, you only gain +30 hp (the amount from ONE rune).

There are two points to using vigor runes.
1) they can increase your health. While this is not so noticeable at 100% health, it can mean a significant difference once you get some death penalty, since the rune bonuses are not reduced by it. Also, some focus can yield +90 heath from runes (superior vigor+ 4 runes of vitality). Combine that with the survivor insignia and weapon and shield bonuses, and you get a what, +190? (50+10+10+10+10+40+30+30). That's quite a bit. 2) they can counter the effects of the stat runes. A minor vigor lets you almost halve the -75 from a superior stat rune. Remember, equipment is not the only thing in Guild wars. Thanks, Anet, for that. One of the best points of GW. |
