Questions About GW2
I want to start back playing Guild Wars and I have some questions about Guild Wars 2.
I started last Spring with Prophecies and quit before the first expansion ever came out. Is Guild Wars 2 a stand-alone product? Can I buy Guild Wars 2 and will it start all over? Or is it going to be like the expansion where you could use your characters on your account like before. Guild Wars - Prophecies / Factions / Nightfall / Eye of the North , all the characters are linked together right? |

GW 2 will be standalone, but I think there is a feature where you can transfer accomplishments through a "hall of [something] in Eye of the North - but the characters will be all new. Sorry if I'm wrong there, but thats what I've come to understand (and the game won't be out for quite some time... )

Okay thanks, so that means if I want to start playing Guild Wars again, I can just start playing Guild Wars 2 when it comes out and it will be a fresh start?
Wait, are you able to link your Guild Wars and Guild Wars 2 characters together when it comes out? Because I knew you could do that with your Prophecies and Factions. Play on both or play seperate Last edited by new_avatar; Apr 27, 2007 at 01:43 PM // 13:43.. |

Basically, you understand it. GW/Factions/Nightfall and Eye of the North (GW:EN) will allow your character to travel from one continent to another so long as you link the accounts when you buy the new chapters.
GW 2 will be a whole new game, but their will be something called the hall of mounuments in GW:EN that carries some unspecified "stuff" from one game to another (a lot of specualation abounds about what will actually be carried over, but it doesn't look like gold or normal weapons and not your characters). I wouldn't worry too much about GW 2 right now though. It is over 2 years away from release. |
