Ive got your name, ive got your number -.-
omfg
This blows on many levels but the one thing that ticks me off is my guildies that braged bout how they went to try outs for HA , gvg and TA for hours so they could proove themselves to these peeps. After beeing taking in by these guilds they came on ts to tell us how they are joing a better guild because of their rank 2/3 abilties had surpassed that of our guild with rank 3/12 players. Now I find out they paid the guild in qustion just cause of a tin foil cape efect they left a their guild of 1yr1/2.I know you two nubs will read this and expect rage pms and get reading to increase your ignore list. |

Well, I think that our viewpoints are not too far off, elektra and max. I think some of the discussion is more semantical than topical. I especially like your analagy of using your guild to make money with football. However, it does not completely fit. The scenario is that the capes are used to identify players that are skilled and that should get respect for their skill (not who they are as a person). But now, that standard can no longer be used. Those with trimmed capes may have just as well bought it, rather than earned it. How do those that earned it feel about those getting recognition for their "leetness" when all they did was pay for it? It would be like if Joe Montana's jersey read "Trump" and all of the videos had been photoshopped so that Donald Trump's face was their instead of Joe Montana. Montana gets paid a few hundred million dollars, but Donald Trump is recognized as one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time. Joe Montana is okay with it (not saying he actually would be, but hypothetically) since he sold it. But how would Dan Marino feel about his Hall-of-Fame induction if Donald Trump was already in...having never played a game of football in his life? The Hall of Fame is not for sale, should status by cape design be? Absolutely respect people for their skills...but how can we identify them if what we used in the past is now for sale?

Its a game.
Who cares? Play it. Its not that big of a deal. People ebay gold. People buy invites to guilds. Its the ingame version of ebaying gold. You can't stop them. Why does it bother you? I agree that it is wrong. But whining about it won't solve anything. In the end. It takes a really desperate person with a low low LOW self esteem to buy an invite to a guild. Instead of getting angry, we should pitty them. |

If someone invites anyone to their guild it's their business and none of yours, if they get bad rep or not.
See me feeling sorry for some noob PvE'er in Kamadan wanting a silver cape the "easy" way and then geting scammed" , Yes I'm really sorry. Not. Basicly, people have been doing this since ever, the only guild that might have been a bit, erm, unpleasent to people was DeeR, this is basicly like geting power-leveled, or doing that guild hall cheat for survivor, or buying gold off eBay, there are consequences, you cheat, you lose. Maybe if they actually cared about the silver cape that much, they would try and join a gvg guild and maybe take months to get there, but work for it, instead of thinking they can just get the jackpot and buy it off for 10k, lmao 10k. To Wilhelm, yes, my old guild was sold for 1000k, we were going to lose the trim in about 2 weeks, my leader told him that, do you think they cared? No, they still bought it. So basicly, to guilds that might get bad rep doing this, erm you're missing the point here, they are only doing this because they will lose trim soon or are going to disband. Blame, I think your friend was selling guild invites because he knew you guys were going to disband soon, no? To people that might get scammed or not, first, for a PvE'er 10k is nothing, it's like a penny, second, 10k for 24 hours with a trim to walk around showing off and acting like a jerk is a price most of them are willing to pay and don't really care. To the OP. If like you giving a example, joe only had 9.4k, etc etc, well then I doubt joe knows what a silver cape really means, and should really go play the game more, I don't think new players know, what gold/silver/bronze is until later, unless they start pvp'ing straight away and have friends to tell them, but if you are talking about PvE players, I doubt that. Peace~ |

Being kicked after you buy the invite is scamming and wrong. I don't think anyone can back down from that argument.
Buying an invite, selling an invite - aslong as you don't kick the person or what not, it's not scamming. Both parties know what's involved. If of course, you do get scammed (get kicked). It should teach you a lesson. I do think these people who do that should be banned though. I would never buy an invite, but I can support the idea of it. Shame it isn't scam free though. |

I'm fine with it, as long as they don't kick those who pay for invites. I can understand kicking troublesome members, but otherwise not.

Seeing them sell invites is pretty damn low, but you still shouldnt pay for those invites... its just a problem waiting to happen.
But I lost most respect from higher guilds seeing as how they trash talked and stuff After seeing what happened to kgyu in the one tournament >_>... wow |

...Selfish I agree with this post. A Net has given you an inch and now your trying to take a mile. Just enjoy your trim and stop giving the game a bad name. |

For the guild that wins the tourny, have all the members in the guild at the time it was earned have the trim. Anyone who joins after doesn't get it. Or make it account-based like titles and have individual cape trims regardless of guild membership. Some solution of that nature would work imo.

Sorry, but when most people play a game, they don't say to each other "Man, I don't think we should sell memberships, our honor will be ruined"....I mean after all, it is a GAME.
Also, if your really that stupid to BUY your way into a guild, than you deserve to get kick. Its pretty obivous that its a scam. To the people that just started playing and this happened to them: When you first play a MMO, you should already know there will be scams. Don't do anything stupid or risky untill you know what is a scam and what is not. Get a nice list of friends that are exp in the game and ask them about these things. |
