how to get earth scythe
I've been considering using ebon dust aura with my derv but I can't find a earth scythe. I know there are 2 greens but 1 is crap and the other 1 isn't that great and it is still far from where I am.
How can I craft one myself. And where can I find the components? Please help |

You need an Ebon Scythe Snathe. That will change damage to earth.
You can get one by salvage from a non-max scythe that is described as Ebon. Or buy one from another player who salvaged it himself.

As far as I can tell neither of the ebon green scythes are "crap". Both are 15>50 which is one of the popular inscriptions and nothing wrong with +7 against physical (Bubahl's) and +20% enchant on Mallyx scythe is a very nice mod for a dervish.
In any event you either need to find one as a drop by killing mobs and opening chests, or purchase one from another player. This is true for both the green or the ebon snathe - actually it is true for anything in the game the traders or merchants do not sell. |

My derv currently uses Bubahl's for the Ebon Dust build. But with the amount of enchantments a derv uses, the best scythe is a +20% enchant.

Thats bad news for me. Looks like EDA has to wait...for some time.
Why I said those 2 greens aren't that good is because they have less mods then other greens. Bubahl's has 2 mods (+7 armor physical dmg and +15% dmg) while other green(not all) scythes have 3 like stygian or fahralon's scythe(+30 hp and sundering). Same for Mallyx scythe except this one has a better mod(20% ench longer owns). |

You realize earth damage is also a mod right?

yes almost every green (if not every green) has 3 mods. A damage mod (Vampiric, Ebon, Shocking, Fiery, Zelous, Sundering, etc.) an "Inherent" mod (AKA Inscription) such as 15% over 50% HP, or something of the sort. And what i would call a "support" mod which usually is something like Fortitude, Enchanting, Dwarfslaying etc. etc.

I thought ebon doesn't take a slot and can be used together with other dmg mods like sundering. Sorry for that and thank you all for explaining.
So Bubahl's and Mallyx scythe are not bad at all. Looks like my best option is to buy one of those. |

Alternatively, you could add in Dust Cloak to your build, which converts your weapon damage to Ebon (which is what triggers EDA), and causes blindness to those around you when it ends.

Or you can still make your own. Personally, the Mallyx's Savagery (Banana Scythe) skin does not interest me. I like the Ancient Scythe skin that Bubahl's uses better.
