Default No skill points after level 20! pls help! :(

Q: after i reached level 20, i "levelled-up" and expected to have an additional attribute point but to there was none.. are the points i receive reflect on the skill points of my heroes or mine? i'm nearing another "level-up" and am expecting to see an additional point.

Q: i read in guildwiki that after reaching level 20 you will be given 200 attribute points... but there was, again, none. is that just a joke?

please help guys.. thanks!

I think you are a bit confused on attribute points and skill points. It is true that once you reach level 20 and have completed both 15 attribute quests (correct me if i'm wrong) you will have a total of 200 attributes.

After level 20 you will continue to get skill points, so you can continue to buy skills.

You are correct 200 attribute points plus you still gain skill points as for hero's who knows when they get their skill points.

they get their first extra 15 attribute points at lvl 10 and the second set of 15 at lvl 15.

heroes don't get skill points, they can access any skills you have unlocked on your account.

For every new rank in either Sunspear or Lightbringer you're awarded a number of hero skillpoints.

Remember, this is also dependant on the chapter you are playing as to how you get your attribute points...

http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Attribute_Point for more information and the missions you need to complete for them and where

However, press H and you will see a skill point indicator and each time your experience bar max's out, you will gain another skill point, aswell as from missions in both factions and nightfall

If it isnt clear yet:

Attribute Points: Points you can distribute on your Primary and Secondary Professions' Attributes, to make the skills tied to those Attributes stronger.
Maximum is 200 points. That is 170 points from leveling and 2x 15 points from two quests. Basically making you lvl 22 but without the health bonus, so it is important that you do these quests.

Skill Points: You gain these points every level and certain quests give these too. Missions give 1-3 Skill Points too, depending on Bonus/Master. However, 'low-level' Missions on non-native soil, like Pre-Lions Arch, and both training Isles in Cantha and Elona, do not give them.
On Wiki there is/was also a small note from someone saying the max is 200, which is false. I have seen people running around with as much as 500+ skillpoints. There is no limit.

Hero Skill Points: You get 2 of these whenever you reach the next rank in Sunspear and Lightbringer. Useful to unlock skills for heroes, if you havent played a certain class yourself yet. This also unlocks the skill for PvP. And because it is unlocked, you can buy this skill as well from Skill Merchants from now on.

ok, it seems your little confused.

when u reach lv 20 u will have 170 points to spread across your attrubutes.
if u then choose to do another 2 quests (each give u 15 more points) u end up with 200.

200 is the maximum amount of points u can gain. after u reach lv 20 u contunue to gain skill points which u can use to buy skills from skills trainers.

Something is missing there: Using a hero skill point at a hero trainer will teach the skill to your character, regardless of its professions. It will also unlock the skill on your account, allowing heroes to use it.
If you get a skill this way that doesn't belong to your profession, you will have it available as soon as you unlock that profession. For example if you are a W/R and buy a Mesmer skill this way, as soon as you change your secondary to Mesmer, you'll have this skill.
